Protonmail

Just wanted to stop by and ask the nerdanons of their opion related to protonmail.
Is it really safe?
Are the mountain jews really telling the truth?
It might not go to the NSA but def to the BND..?

Does it matter?
It doesn't force you to give them your mobile phone so they can spread it among the advertising companies, and that automatically makes them better than google or microshit dogshit.
It's truly a fucking showcase of how much those cunts don't give a fuck about you when they keep begging for phone numbers despite it being showcased that 2-step authentication with mobile phones only decreased the security of many people by adding telecom social engineering as an additional loophole, rather than reducing loopholes.

it's email so it inherently sucks by design
protonmail to protonmail mails should be somewhat secure on transfer client2client
protonmail to elsewhere has the option to use the secure box requiring password, clunky but also somewhat secure
protonmail to elsewhere without the box is ordinary email
afaik you still need external signing system for identity authentication of an email, at this point why not use PGP or libsodium's securebox
from what I've understood, the key is derived from password client-side and mails are stored on servers encrypted, only decrypted in client
but incoming emails still enter the protonmail servers unencrypted, thus they have an option to read them
web client's security highly depends on correct TLS implementation as it's loaded every time and not authenticated in any independent way
not sure if the server, phone clients and IMAP bridge are open source

This is the correct answer.
PM-PM is fine, others risky.

They do not allow you to use an external mail client like thunderbird or mutt with your own gpg setup. You are forced to use the (((web client))) with their own Javascript crypto.
Protonmail also has some shady shit going on. They technically have a way of using mail clients, but it requires that you run a proprietary, closed source, nonfree daemon on your computer. Furthermore, they can and will shut you down if they feel like it. pic related.

The best choice is to self host. If you can't/don't want to do that, consider purchasing a paid runbox, posteo, or mailfence account, and using it in tandem with your system's installation of GNU Privacy Guard and a Free Software mail client

>they
haven't found anything about the other parts being open source and the API has private documentation

They recently added true PGP support, for outgoing mails (support for incoming mails was added some time ago) , so PM-PGP it's fine too nowadays, which makes it almost equal to every other webmail out there
The only reason to not use PM nowadays it's if you don't trust their clients and/or the bridge (I don't remember if the bridge it's FOSS, but the mobile client isn't)

Old pasta, same story. Funny how nothing has changed since the last time i saw this.

Was not expecting something like that from teh mountain jew. I know them as xenophobes.
I like the simple design of protonmail.
They latest google update forces its users to watch a fucking animation at the start which just wastes more of my day.

Protonmail to elsewhere with PGP encryption is a thing, and works just fine

>Imagine thinking you have the right to use their platform to incite violence
T. absolutebrainlet

it doesn't have enough cocks

literally what I said on next line

PMDF incoming.

>Checks next line
No tf you didn't. You said >"afaik you still need external signing system for identity authentication of an email, at this point why not use PGP or libsodium's securebox"

That's not even remotely the same shit, and implies you don't realize that protonmail actually uses PGP

my ISP has an issue with hosting an email server, incoming is not a problem ISPs do not want people becoming spamnets and using their own mail servers to send out thousands of emails a day. If you live in the US they have made it pretty hard to do this.

what the fuck is this for real?

fucking cucks, fuck i'm mad

Plus Protonmail allegedly got hacked and despite denying through their social media pages their shills show up to any thread or post regarding this fact and get very angry about it. Even if you just question the semantics of if or how a hack could possibly happen.

This kind of aggressive focus on damage control seems really jewy.

I find it strange that EU countries are actually implementing some of the best data protection policies at the moment.

Has any nigger actually read through these, sure these bastards dont have some loop hole that says if you speak out against the future demigod ruler of the EU you will be executed?

>Free baseball bats for kids to play baseball
>You aren't allowed to hit people with the bats
>Outrageous

You're browsing a board that implies you have more intelligence than a retarded dog, why are you using such flawed logic?

Redpill me bro, I can't see it.

It sets a ridiculous precedent, anyone can false flag as an address they don't like of a political opinion they don't like

"You will not replace us" isn't hate speech even, although the entire concept of hate speech is fucking retarded.

"I fucking hate you and want you to die" isn't "hate" speech but saying that white people should stick to white people and black with black is hate speech, lol.

Just use
>Disroot
>Autistici
>Riseup

>Hospitalize
The incitement was the problem

You get the point that anyone can make a poster like that?

This. Also the company is in Switzerland or operates under Swiss law. Switzerland is a police state. You can't trust any company based on what they say. This is much better choice than the US tech companies that demand your phone number. The best would be to host it yourself on an VPS. It takes less than a day to setup and you not need to worry about the corp selling your data.
