Vscode uses AI to assist your code

Look at OP. Took him a full second to type "has" and "get", then even longer to type set. If you type 3cps, that's only 180cpm, which is ~41wpm (source: typing-speed-test.aoeu.eu/), so how in the fuck is it quicker?

It's really useful because I don't have to keep library docs open to remember where X function in Y module is, or its exact type signature/annotation.
People who reject auto-complete are pure luddites and tryhards.

Autocomplete is great if you are unfamiliar with an API an you just press "." to read what you can do.

if you need the first option, you can just press return to insert it instead of typing the three chars.

you probably need to fix your paths in the settings for whatever the C++ extension uses.

I use emacs now which I prefer and has all of the features of an IDE but you there should be a file called something like cppproperties.json I believe in your .vs folder. You have to add library paths and defines to that.

He clearly stopped to read what it was going to autocomplete to, as would anyone unless it was something a lot more specific. Otherwise "map." could autocomplete to anything if he just mindlessly pressed tab.

Vscode is so bad you still need a jetbrains extension to make it usable. Just use jetbrains or buy a studio enterprise for $8
