serious question, are there any non-stax posters here who have actually heard more than 2-3 headphones? stax owners who post here usually have an assortment of headphones they own and have listened to.

I bought some ER4SRs and they sound really bass light, would using a fiio a5 with bass boost help?

Just ordered HD380 pro (~$110+VAT, europoor). How bad did I fuck up?

>bass
>single balanced armature
kek, nothing would help.

nope
get dynamic or hybrid iems if you want bass
even multi ba drivers dont have bass impact, just volume

they can sound a bit weird if you are used to other good headphones, but mine have more than 10 years and still perfect, replaced the shitty coil cable with a 20$ ebay one and adapted hm5 pads becouse stock ones are shitty pleather that in less than one year will become velour.

Hey there, I you guys' help for a recommendation.

I need a cheap (70$ or so budget) closed, over ear headphone that I can wear both at home with my laptop and outside with my phone. I just need them to be comfortable and have ok isolation. But due to my location my options are quite limited if I want to buy domestic. I can buy from American amazon but it adds at least 20$ to the cost for shipping and takes quite a while. I'm not sure about /csg/ headphones.

My current phone (which I recently bought) has a headphone jack but should I try to futureproof and get something wireless?

These are most of my options.
mediamarkt.com.tr/tr/category/_kulaklıklar-503471.html

can't argue with that

Attached: 777.jpg (400x580, 40K)

I'm going from Marshall Major II, apparently quite shit by /hpg/ standards. When I had non-coiled cable, it used to snag on shit all the time, I think I'll keep that. Good to know about the pads.

>Past headphone

I used a pair of Sony MDR-XB450 for a couple of years, the only reason that I'm not buying a new pair is because my Huwaei Mate 20 Lite doesn't work with it for some reason.

return them and get the xr unless you're wanting tons of bass then get something completely different

I've got a pair and the issue is that those screws holding the cup unfast in no time so they just wobble. They're hidden very well and you can't really tighten them properly, they would come loose again anyway.
I would take a picture if I had one of those snake spy cams.

What's the bass boost on fiio's shit good for anyway? Seems like most stuff that could potentially benefit from it, anything fiio isn't worth the money for.

rude

>What's the bass boost on fiio's shit good for anyway?
nothing. it causes the fiio to distort sooner and it bleeds too high into the midrange to be useful as a simple convenient bass boost button

when ur niggerbass m50x or beyer cop need a tad bit more nigger

K7XX any good for someone who listens to dnb?

no get stax instead

I'm not buying headphones that spit and require modification to use.

the only people who like stax are people who jerk off to microdetail and don't care about recreating what instruments sound like in real life

Buy a cheap tactile transducer from ali, they have 50mm ones that would work perfectly. Mounting them parallel to the driver won't work though, it'll bloat the bass to incredible levels while not vibrating your head that much.

Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?
I went over the replies on the other thread, it seems most people took some freedom interpreting my post. To be clear, when I said value I meant Value per yen.
By now, after trying so many headphones, I'll say that HD600 are so damn good that I'd recommend getting them even if you already had L700, just because they sound so right and so well balanced overall.
But there's definitely something to the STAX. I'll likely end up buying L700 down the road, and that's not random: They do sound detailed AF. Seriously so, to amazing degree. All these things that you can hear on HD600 sometimes, when in the right mood, at the right volume, are somehow easy to find on STAX. I even found detail that I normally can only hear on the instrumental tracks. And this detail doesn't get stabbed into your ears and the overall isn't made to sound bodyless, which is how the high-end dynamics I tried sound. DT1990 and HD700 comically so; HD800/S are actually listenable.
If you're ever in Tokyo, I'd recommend going to e-earphones and yodobashi akiba. The latter has a larger collection, has amps like the sennheiser's thing for feeding HD800, for headphones that need them, and it's a very easy shop to try STAX on. But unfortunately, for open headphones, the place is LOUD so you won't really be able to test properly. Just setting the volume high is not proper unfortunately; I'd never listen to these volumes at home. There were people pointing and laughing, no kidding. They likely actually play love live and are secretly envious of me. I'd love to give STAX more ear time, somewhere more quiet.

>I'll say that HD600 are so damn good that I'd recommend getting them even if you already had L700
this is why you go L700 + sr-007 kek

thank you for clarifying your comments IT

i'd laugh if i saw some weeb blasting trashy idol music too

take that back, you dont mean it!

Attached: 1543862404163.jpg (850x985, 124K)

I think the audio technica's that I have use some proprietary connector that will prevent me from doing something like that

hahahahhahahahahah the absolute state of weebtards

That thing just sounds as if underwater, seriously. The midrange seems dry. µ's voices sound very thin and recessed, and feel like "spice girls" tier western garbage.
L300, L700 good.
L500 meh. SR-009S bad, seem like a joke. Made me think there possibly was something wrong with the setup, or that I might be able to get something out of them if I was already used to STAX and the environment was quiet. But to me, on yesterday's testing, they were just a ringing mess.
I'm on vacation. Won't be back in Dublin until half January. The rofling people I noticed were actually gaijin. One of them was a nigga; Probably thinks HD600 has no bass.
I doubt there's much overlap between actual idol otaku and fictional idol fans (love live fans, im@s "producers" and so on). The people I've seen in character goods sections and such for these seemed pretty cool people you wouldn't suspect are into the stuff at all. Not creepy otaku sorts.
There's two kinds of people, those that know about idols and those that don't such as and are weak, easily ashamed, confidence-lacking wusses, so they instead laugh at idol fans ;)

Attached: 1513317937677.png (1024x768, 1.25M)

I would unironically choose weeb music over whatever degenerate western media has produced lately or having to hear the same old songs I've heard a thousand times over

I am on my second pair of 100$ sennheiser headphones. My right speaker stopped working AGAIN!

Any recommendations for brands to switch to?

>L300, L700 good.
few things. you listened to a ported L300. after sealing it is much better. secondly you are forgetting about older lambdas which for the price can be ridiculously good value compared to the L700 cost. third, you can do a midbass boost on stax to get closer to the sennheiser house sound. lastly it's too bad you didn't get to try an sr-007 because it's more relaxed

Aren't the Love Live albums mastered like shit? Pretty sure the dynamic range isn't that wide, most of them are way too loud to begin with.

>weak, easily ashamed, confidence-lacking wusses
I’m not the one that listens to fucking anime music in public lol
>only pop music exists
