Cute.
what speakers are those friend?
>tits and timestamp
Why pastels? And why 2 3DSes?
Where'd you get the Firefly posters from?
>unironically using RGB and case windows to show off your mediocre hardware
Repost. Send updated pic if real.
The screens don't look as different IRL as they do in photos.
Do you know where we are
My eyes like this picture. Nice setup user!
Really shitty picture but need some advice on how to arrange. Should i move the main monitors to the left and then move the printer over to the right and have the right most desk mostly empty? I'm only worried that the space between the legs of the desks will feel cramped if i move the main monitors over towards the corner
Got my cable management dealt with.
Looks clean, what did you use for the management? A cable tray underneath the table?
Finally upgrading this old 3770k
Yeah, just an IKEA Signum. I got 10 of them off ebay on the cheap. Sold a few on, still have 3 left.
nice speakers, I was surprised by their volume
What model sony tubes? I've forgotten the illustrator to that background, whats his name?
Overall good taste m8
I am turning my Thinkpad into a retro desktop battlestation. Here's my progress so far:
>Moved it to my desk.
>Installed a bunch of old operating systems in VMs that I can use at various times (MS-DOS/Win3.1, Win95, OS/2 Warp).
>Got an external keyboard and mouse.
>Eventually replaced it with a new external keyboard that is mechanical/clicky (nothing particularly retro about the fact that it's an RGB, but whatever).
>Added an external speaker.
>Created my own Ethernet that's bridged to the house WiFi so my connection can be wired rather than wireless (I don't live in my own house, so...).
>Connected an external monitor with a 4x3 aspect ratio that I picked up at the local landfill and closed the lid on the Thinkpad.
>Found the color controls on the new monitor and turned off the red and blue channels so it looks like a monochrome greenscreen terminal.
>Turned the lights off and started computing in the dark at night.
What do you Jow Forumsuys think? Does this look like a setup you'd find in Neo's apartment?
Manchild general.
Not really, looks like the stupid stuff id of done when I was 10 to be honest.
>What model sony tubes?
From left to right:
>PVM-20L5
>PVM-14L5
>CPD-15SF1
I kinda want to track down a widescreen VGA monitor like a GDM-W900 to replace the cheap LCD in the middle and match the beige aesthetic of the CPD, but I currently live in an apartment complex without elevators and the extra hundred pounds of weight would probably collapse my current desk.
>I've forgotten the illustrator to that background, whats his name?
Romain Trystram. He has an entire series of these skylines.
>Created my own Ethernet that's bridged to the house WiFi so my connection can be wired rather than wireless (I don't live in my own house, so...).
95% chance you're underageb&
I live in a retard house, dipshit.
most children do
>Where'd you get the Firefly posters from?
Amazon. Search for firefly les femmes or les hommes
also recommend me any lights, plants, or other shit i should get. The table under the desk has already been cleaned up and everything on it moved to storage
No, you fucking moron, I live in a government-subsidized house for adults with mental disabilities. They don't accept minors in their program.
You're mentally disabled?
Can you read?
I was referring more to the fact that you think it's hacker-esque to use a standalone wifi to ethernet adapter vs just using the one in your computer.
>for adults with mental disabilities
damn thats even worse than being a child
Yeah
>I live in a government-subsidized house for adults with mental disabilities
You are being needlessly obtuse.
Well, it is kind of annoying when people accuse me of being a minor on here because I'm somewhat immature. I'm almost 30 ffs.
Uh yes, if you talk and act like a teenager, people are going to assume that you are a teenager.
If you really want to be retro external monitor, mouse, and keyboard aint going to cut it. Go to good will or other thrift shops and look for only mice and keyboards (off white, not black. Ball mouse not laser, mechanical keyboard instead of dome if possible [not required]). You may be able to find an old pc in this style as well; get it. You can guy the inside and either stick the laptop in there or have the laptop under the desk and route cables through the gutted pc case. At this point start trying to find a crt, might be kind of tough but still may be able to find one.
This is bst, not HRT
No bully. Best device for when you work across multiple servers.
what keyboard? How do you have unix working on an ipad, and why that over a surface product?
My guess is it's a fullscreen ssh client.
Cute! How do you justify this to other humans though?
looks like a cockpit. Doesn't that get a bit overwhelming? Awesome setup though
Pretty cool setup with the old tech. Not my personal taste but it has a charm to it.
Do you live in a dungeon, user?
your setup is too spread out. It looks really messay imo.
very nice. clean and has a goood atmosphere.
>vertical monitor
man of taste as well
do you have one with lighting so that we can actually see your battlestation?
what monitors + resolution?
is this legit?
Comfy
>coffee machine on desk
Comfy
>using a shitbox monitor as your main dispaly
why?
It has better colors than the ips on the left and better motion blur reduction than the 180hz monitor on the right
Looks stunning in my opinion but in the future I think I'll just go with a single ultrawide. Pic related is a color/viewing angle test from below
Is that $144 in your bank account?
>Do you live in a dungeon, user?
No. There is a tall window just out of shot. This corner of the house used to be a kitchen before a previous owner moved that to what was an enclosed back porch.
Still the best battlestation I have seen in years, desu. Wish there was a pic of the front of that case.
The art supplies makes me wonder if anyone actually uses that room or if it was made just for the photo, like a sculpture.
based and redpilled girl
Sperg
>pc on carpet
16:10 mustard rice
where would one get one of these?
Fleabay
>fucking fire hydrants
please tell me youre actually a girl at least.
>implying any girls go on Jow Forums
>implying half of Jow Forums doesn't pretend to be a girl
>implying programming socks aren't a thing
>what monitors + resolution?
>implying half of Jow Forums doesn't pretend to be a girl
really? i thought it was only 30%
Nope.
TFW no amount shampooing and cleaning will get this rug clean. This is the second time I've cleaned this rug in the past 4 months.
The fact its wet makes it look even worse.
You're supposed to jizz into a napkin or something.
It's from wearing shoes at my setup for years. I haven't worn shoes in here in 7 months.
looks like audioengine a2
ngl looks pretty noice
only case where I think 60% is unironically a good choice
Where did you get that keyboard?
>he thinks it's a girl
Lurk more
Back to /reddit/
Share the wallpapers op
give me those wallpapers
arent you from /lgbt/?
yeah? from here originally tho
How can you guys afford all this shit?
oh i just thought i remembered seeing you post there before
Jobs, Ikea, and some power tools go a long way to make life easier.
mommies credit card of course
The generation of games that coincided with my early teens.
Aka the last generation of games I cared about before nerdcore culture steamrolled me into needing to like Pokémon again to fit in.
wtf is this welfare station?
I wish I could have a setup like that.
Your mother must be very loving!
probably yeah I post on /lgbt/ more than anywhere
>tfw cute tr*nnies have been posting here the whole time
Working, of course. Even if you are a poorfag like me.
make sure to follow my instagram it gives me life
Most of that is power tools, Ikea, and manual labour rather than anything to do with computers.
The table is a $20 piece of plywood I had some some wood shop run by filipinos laminate and add trim for $50. Screwed on some cheap legs for another $50, and either a $15 ikea cable management bracket or bend some coathangers into a swirl and you've got a large table for less.
Running ethernet in a preexisting structure is a pain, but it can be done for under $150 if ALL your doing is the cable run, and avoid going down the rabbit hole. And you don't really NEED ethernet these days, 5ghz is pretty good.
The Ikea cabinet is actually the best piece. $40 for the frame and $25 for the glass door, $4 for 4 bookshelf brackets to reinforce the thing. All cables hidden, and matches the case.
Where are from and how old are you?
These setups don't look to run more than $4k total for the most expensive
>A folding table
>I wish I could have a setup like that
settin' those standards low I see.
where would one find a link to it?
That's the Canadian ensign flag right? It looks really cool user
