I honestly do not understand how they are getting away with it. Google is a search-engine, it's not a newspaper like the New York Times. You can sue the NYT because it's a publisher with an editor and it's responsible for what they publish. You couldn't hold Google responsible in the same way 10 years ago because it's a search-engine, not a publication with an editor. Except.. their "search-engine" is now filtered based on their opinion of content and they are also censoring sites who compete with their own services. This does put them under a very different set of laws and regulations yet everyone seems to pretend that Google still qualifies as a search-engine. It's not. The same applies to Facebook and Twitter.
