I'm thinking of upgrading my GPU.
Currently looking at Vega64, but it costs $700. Meanwhile, the rx580 is around $250. Is the Vega64 that much better than rx580 to justify the price difference?

lol
are you poor?
just get rtx2080ti
raytracing is the future

Nope.
You may want to look into Nvidia's last gen options.

>Currently looking at Vega64, but it costs $700
fucking where?
I can get Vega 64 for €550 new in my shithole yuropoor country
wait, is this another nvidia shilling thread?

Vega 64 is absolutely not worth 700$.
t. Vega 64 owner

Amazon

Yeah, so what? When it becomes mainstream that card will be outdated.

rx580 handles most of the 1080p gayming
Vega handles ultra 1440p or high 4k.

64 may be a bad value when 56 exists and costs like 300-400$ while being almost as good.

>raytracing is the future

The future is not the present.
Turing doesn't deliver the minimally acceptable performance at raytracing.

hahahaha, coping amdpoooors

I keep seeing it for $399 why are you such a cuck you can’t find it for cheap?

Steps of shit you could get depending on budget
rx580/rx590, gtx1070/1070ti, gtx1080ti

There's no point getting a vega64 when you can just get a vega56 and OC it to vega64 tier performance

The Vega 56 can be boosted into almost a Vega 64 level of performance with a bios mod, but it's still too expensive compared to what it offers and is still outperformed at the same price point by Nvidia offerings. If you wanted to get a Vega 64, with the same money you can get a RTX2070 which is around 10% faster and comes with all of Nvidia's shenanigans.

i dont get it, i love AMD and have the ryzen 2600 but i do not understand getting a vega card whatsoever. am i a dumb fag?

Vega 64 is currently at $409.99 on Newegg

yes

please help me..

What's there to understand?
Vega offers superior AMD drivers and user experience, HBCC, chill, Freesync, performance metrics overlay, integrated streaming with GPU encoding, full control over clocks and voltages...

>b-but muh power consumption from benchmarks using 150% power target
Don't be a brainlet please. If you want a Vega card, you can find it for a good price.
t. Vega 64 owner that bought it for 500 €

linux drivers
nvidia sucks at this, amd doesn't

>superior drivers
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAno
>chill
400w tdp
>freesnyc
ya got me, it's real cheap
>Performance metrics overlay
Nvidia does this too, even board partners get metric overlays in their own flavor if you want them
>integrated streaming
Not useful in most use cases, not to mention I've NEVER seen a streamer using a vega 64 OR 56
>full control over clocks and voltages
Another thing nvidia has

You didn't mention the much better linux support, compute power, OR the fact that outside of the US the card is exorbitantly more expensive than other cards due to scarcity, better mining performance in countries with subsidized power and tech inflation in general.

But hey, you called that guy a brainlet so clearly you're a >9000 IQ god of knowledge, Dumbass.
Vega cards are shit value for gaming and they have been from the start.

????

The more these threads go on, the more schizophrenic the people sound

>I've NEVER seen a streamer using a vega 64 OR 56
Streamers are often sponsored, and Nvidia invests a lot into making the brand as visible as possible.

>streamer
>internet man who makes money by making video for people who do thing relating to expensive hobby
So?

>but it costs $700
Moron. How much of an ape you have to be to even type this? Do you not have google available i your shithole of a country? The Vega in your pic costs 399$ in newegg. It is absolutely worth every penny unlike the overpriced and out of stock competition.

Shit, meant to reply to parent

Just get a Vega 56

Check pcpartpicker

I find Amazon generally has poor GPU prices

there's a vega 64 for $399 on newegg right now. buy it.

>rtx2080ti
>rtx20anything
>*breaks in less than day in your path*

Stop doubling down on your ironic shitposting when you get called out on being wrong. You are cancer.

this
stop your kvetching already

I'm not OP, but I totally just bought it. Thanks for the heads up

I heard that you should get 56 at a discount (seen it at 310 euro), undervolt and up frequencies to the 64 level.

JUST BUY IT

Probably canadian or australian. Thats probably their price.

>Currently looking at Vega64, but it costs $700.
What third world shithole do you live in? You can get a new V64 for €450 here.

>not getting it when it was $450 canada funbux on black friday

Wait till boxing day bruv

I got my vega 64 for $400. where the fuck do you live where its $700??

buying a ray tracing card now is like buying a 8800gts in 2006 and expecting it to run dx10 games fully maxed out in 2009 when dx10 finally started to become popular. or a 5870 in 2009 to play dx11 games in 2013 at max settings. its way to fucking soon. that and that $1,100 2080 ti is fucking garbage with ray tracing. even after nvidias performance driver for it they released.

only the 1% of retards buy rtx.

For a stock blower design that will overheat if actually used.

Australian/Canadian money

>stock blower
Enjoy your 6 months blowout fqaggt

Are the Linux proprietary Nvidia drivers good enough to justify switching from an AMD 580?

>Vega64
1070Ti performance, except more expensive and with >100W higher TDP? Brilliant.

I could get Gigabyte or Sapphire radeon for $650 new here, or $350 used.
