Too poor for retina

>he fell for the IPS meme
just get this

Attached: asus.png (1655x813, 557K)

>G-sync
>not freesync
Into the trash it goes

there is this one if you want free sync
Asus MG278Q

but tn view angle is so bad, colour changes even when sitting in front of the monitor.

>tn view angle is so bad
I have one, I have no viewing angle problem

Cause you fell for the meme. It's okay, just don't do it again.
Protip: don't buy Intel

that's an outright lie. Simply leaning back in my chair causes huge shifts in color.

I got one too. Looks amazing but man the backbleed is so annoying. Blacks are shit in any of the corners of the screen.

Why are there no perfect monitor panels?

It's okay fren, just go to IA (IPS Anonymous)
You're not the only one

Attached: 20180810_234332.jpg (4032x3024, 3.19M)

Because you are retarded

Attached: dab.jpg (265x191, 5K)

got a used 1080p 75hz dell ips monitor for 80€ and couldn't be happier, glad i fell for the meme

>curved

Attached: c39.jpg (352x450, 20K)

Looks fine to me. Black levels are overrated since you can't see anything in the darker scenes and honestly looks really unnatural.

are your eyes so far apart from eachother so that's an issue?

You are fucking blind.

Because you buy everything Jow Forums shills by making you feel like you'd be even MORE of a social outcast by being outcast from the outcasts. Their tools are threads where they ask why you aren't already using a product or technology as if everyone else already is, yet conspicuously absent are any real reasons why you actually should own one. Then there's the bingo and "God tier" image macros that accomplish the same goal: making you feel inadequate if you don't own them.

group hug, bros
It really is a beautiful monitor, but I'm lying if I don't get triggered by the backbleed when watching/playing anything dark
Attached: ips.jpg (3859x2212, 819K)

mfw I have no backbleed in my monitor because it's a TN monitor.
you all fell for the IPS meme

Attached: Hmmmm-house-md-9966199-279-302.jpg (279x302, 13K)

mfw I can sit comfortably in my chair and view the monitor from any angle and have an astonishingly clear and vibrant image

>paying 149 for ips
>expecting it to be anything but shit
good job op I've diagnosed you with:
dumb fucktard disease

half retina displays are IPS too you retard

how do you think I fared? I paid 400 for mine it's got no ips glow, but quite a bit of backbleed.

implying I can't
you never seen my monitor before.

Attached: th.gif (500x376, 438K)

what is this type of artefact called? I've slightly exaggerated it in this image via photoshop. I mean the border around the image. on my monitor the colors are slightly brighter then in the middle. tn panel btw.

Attached: Untitled-1.png (1920x1080, 2.36M)

here is another image. same issue but ofcourse my panel is tn and not va. as you can see, the borders are brighter then the middle

Attached: VgcvSDZ.jpg (4032x3024, 470K)

Did you shoot it with a BB gun?

When are they going to make actually good monitors? TN, VA, IPS all have their own glaring flaws.

2020 for oleds with less burn-in

Zero burn-in or bust

Nice try Bobo, but TN panels sucks like your eduction.

I paid around 400 for mine too and my biggest regret is that I fell for the g-sync meme. My 1080ti is strong enough to run games at 1440p 144hz so I don't benefit all that much from it. The bleeding and the glow isn't all that bad as you can see when compared to my TN monitor and I would gladly buy it again

Attached: 20180811_001925.jpg (4032x3024, 1.97M)

You do know that camera enhances the effect, right?

CRT is literal perfection

until the tension lines go bad because you left the monitor on for too long

>burns in and electron guns get misaligned
nothing personnel kid

A cunt was pointing out things on my IPS screen today by hitting it with the end of his pen. Later saw the points he hit were slightly brighter. This went away with rubbing though. Is my screen ok or has he done permanent damage?

Except they aren''t. They're fast and have great blacks, they're beaten when it comes to everything else.

Depends on the IPS panel.
You get what you pay for.

At least go VA, TN is dogshit.

IPS is shit.
VA is shitter.
TN is absolute shit.
OLED is burned in shit.

>TN panels sucks
said the man on the 800x600 monitor.

>TN is absolute shit.

Just bought the U2417D, will arrive on friday, upgrading from a 7 year old 24" cheap (200 bucks) TN panel.

When will Micro LED trickle down to monitors? Even if they're fucking $1k I'd take them.

7-10 years, maybe.

My phone camera is dog shit in low light. I cranked up the light sensitivity

Attached: blb.jpg (2137x1200, 402K)

in the future this will be considered aesthetic.

that's an ips?

Attached: va panel.jpg (4096x2304, 3.13M)

Is it me or has the technology of monitors when backwards?
>its either one or the other
>do you want superior frame rate or better viewing angle and contrast
I sure miss the old days of crt

you can have both of those tho, the real question is do you have enough money

>poor viewing angle
>shitty color contrast
Not everyone uses their monitor to play muh esports titles, we want to see loli anime while leaning back on our recliner

No, Acer and Asus's flagship don't count because they too have backlight bleed and dead pixels. I forgot to add them in the list, btw I own Acer XG270HU and it bleeds during dark scene but honestly I can tolerate it but its not suppose to happen.

I've got f.lux.

The Apple® Cinema HD Display™ does have this issue.
Thank fuck I only paid five bucks for it.

Attached: IMG_20181213_004524.jpg (2560x1920, 2.48M)

why did you hit your screen is the question, retardo

IPS isn't the only panel type

>tn
>1440
>curved
Yeah no thanks. I also don't need to overclock my fucking monitor

>IPS isn't the only panel type
>we also have TN and VA which are worst than the former

>TN
>1440p
>GoySync
>fucking RGB lighting
lmao

Attached: 20181213_002329.jpg (2560x1440, 567K)

what's wrong with 1440p?

>TN and VA are the only alternatives
Also VA panels objectively look better then IPS thanks to their higher contrast rations.

You have some comparison pics, why didn't reviews mention this.

Objectively false

>why didn't reviews mention this.
they do tho
rtings.com/tv/learn/ips-led-vs-va-lcd
you mean true.

>VA panels objectively look better then IPS
>except in the middle where they crush blacks
>and the edges where they lose contrast
>and only if you sit dead center and at least three feet from the screen and never move even a little to the left or right
>and dark pixel transitions leave long smears
>and colors aren't as good
>but other than that they're way better than IPS

Maybe you should try putting your shit at a proper height.

It's not 1080 or 2160. It's like releasing something for the sake of releasing it but not actually finishing it properly. If GPU's were powerful enough to run the best games above 60hz it wouldn't even be around. 4k is the next standard and people are wasting their money on 1440 in the meantime

>spend $700 on a Dell S27DG16 GSync Monitor
>vertical view angle so bad, have be eye level with the TOP of the screen to prevent games from being too dark
>color banding so bad, it makes movies with dark scenes look like 240p.
Just one of many reasons I exited the PC gaming hobby.

Anyone here own a Dell S2716DGR/S2417DG? How does it look once calibrated? I like the colors of IPS yet I hate the inaccurate blacks and backlight bleed.

you forgot the magical ability to usually have a super fucked pixel structure, making text look like literal ass fluids

Hows the Dell U2415?

Looking at upgrading from my Dell 2209WA which might become second screen in portrait mode.

Not sure whether to go bigger tho. Also don't want to downgrade to 16:9.

>bought IPS
>just realized that people has been able to see everything I'm browsing no matter the angle they are

Attached: IMG_0342.png (499x513, 364K)

>we want to see loli anime while leaning back on our recliner
Good man

>$700 on TN monitor
I have a bridge to sell you

Just hook your PC up to the same TV you use for console games

nice lies my friend it's almost like google doesn't exist

Have you tried adjusting the contrast and brightness settings? Not sure if I just got lucky but my monitor has pretty limited bleed in only one corner and it's really only noticeable on a black screen with no ambient lighting. Before when I had the brightness higher it was much worse.

Found the zoomer
1440p was the normal Full HD standard back in the day and 900p was the standard HD definition. But consoles couldn't handle them so thanks to lobbying the standards were dropped. This meant that some companies stuck with 1440p as the standard while others went with 1080p

>being this retarded

not the guy youre replying to but i have a S2716DG and i legitimately dont have the typical TN color shift, the only thing that happens is that at very extreme angles the colors get desaturated (a bit), but that's it
did i just get extremely lucky

bad monitor, straight up
thats just the backlight being uneven

>noticable clearness increase from1080p
>can be pushed well over 60hz in almost every game with a higher end card

Why would you pick anything else right now? 4k at max settings and 60 frames+ isn't happening unless you have a 2080 TI and has major diminishing visual quality returns on most standard monitor sizes. If you're talking about TV's sure but in the case of monitors it is the perfect balance.

>citation needed

maybe you just have shit eyes

He's just memeing. 1440p was going to be the standard, but consoles had nothing to do with it

It's a "quit trying to play games on wayland" artifact.

>S2716DG
Looks pretty bad to me:
rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s2716dg#comparison_1417

Gotta love the TN color inversion that happens at +/-10 degrees vertically.

>the viewing angles are shit
>y-you're looking at it wrong
Can't make this shit up.

"Retina" is not a display technology, it's marketing wank.

I really wish flat CRT tech wasn't locked in copyright patent hell.

Attached: crt vs lcd.jpg (1024x768, 372K)

Attached: crt vs lcd2.jpg (3264x2448, 310K)

1080p is aging and 2160p sucks for gaming or if you want to run an OS without scaling on a non huge screen.

When I was a kid my dad had this ViewSonic CRT that was 1600x1200. I miss that monitor so much, that was the comfiest resolution.

>tfw no one selling this widescreen CRT
>tfw even if i get one dont know anyone who can tune it

Attached: 115283_FW900.jpg (1280x960, 710K)

>flat CRT
Flat CRTs generally had worse image distortion from the tight angles they put the beam around to be flat.
