don't do it, overclock your monitors to 75hz instead, there's just way too much trouble getting 144fps to run and 144hz is hard to set up if you have vsync on your desktop enviroment

FPS means jack shit if your frame times are fucking awful. You can have a game running at 300 FPS but if your frame times are shit you will have a terrible experience. I would rather run at a solid 60 FPS with zero frame time issues than 300 FPS with stutter.
