moar fans

Do you think this motherboard should be enough for one of the new ryzen 3000?

Attached: mobo.png (636x448, 333K)

Which wireless router is better, Linksys WRT32X or Linksys EA7500?

Also, is it worth it to upgrade to a DOCSIS 3.1 modem?

Attached: 1547497115313.jpg (640x480, 28K)

help me choose a monitor please.

I got this one: amazon.com/HP-OMEN-24-5-Monitor-Black/dp/B074PLD2LB/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1547594190&sr=1-4&keywords=omen monitor

but I'm thinking of selling it since it doesn't have the 4 small holes to mount it to a stand like this:
amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V002/dp/B009S750LA/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1547594330&sr=1-4&keywords=dual+monitor+stand&th=1

Right now I'm thinking of buying something like this: amazon.com/Sceptre-E248W-19203R-Monitor-Speakers-Metallic/dp/B0773ZY26F/ref=pd_bxgy_147_3/135-3030414-2324346?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0773ZY26F&pd_rd_r=00d13575-191c-11e9-b05e-5f057b33c572&pd_rd_w=KjD4Q&pd_rd_wg=yySC6&pf_rd_p=6725dbd6-9917-451d-beba-16af7874e407&pf_rd_r=7Y38NDWE59ST0RKS25F3&psc=1&refRID=7Y38NDWE59ST0RKS25F3

for a second monitor, but still have 0 idea what should I go for for the primary one.

Anybody can help?

There's no fucking way to know until release. That said, 3000 Ryzen will support PCIe 4.0, which older boards most likely won't. Fortunately enough for you, GPUs don't bottleneck 3.x PCIe yet...

I have a z390 Gigabyte Aurora motherboard. Top left corner is the CPU power connector. It has 1x8 pin and a 1x4 pin slot. But the cable has a 2x4 pin. Do I use one cable for the 8 pin connector and use a second cable for the 4 pin slot left over and use half of the 2x4 cable on it?

what kind of specs do i need for a gaming laptop to play mount and blade warband?

And the bottleneck probably won't matter unless you're somehow trying to do 4k 144hz gaming.

Baste 2060 being cheaper than the 1070 Ti. Great for low resolution (1080p) gaymers like me.

ye, it's a really good mobo

>Gayman laptop
a 2500u is all you need, you can get 60 fps in warband pretty easy with it. If you want intel look for something with an mx150 (the non throttled 25w version) because HD graphics are shit. Even the throttled version is better than HD graphics, but you'll lose like 40% performance. If you go ryzen avoid the 2700u and stick with the 2500u, the 2700 chokes itself for power and actually gets worse performance than the 2500u.

Thinking of getting one myself. I've been running with a 960 for a long time now and it feels appropriate to upgrade

>no Zen2 or Navi until Computex

why the fuck is AMD always falling months behind schedule

I'm going to buy that one too and a fuckton of people (in german speaking regions) have that one too.

I hope for the best.

get a better GPU

>navi
>computex

Attached: 07678.jpg (600x622, 52K)

I'd prefer amd get its ducks in a row to pull off a good launch than have problems. I do wish they'd launch the mobile ryzens though, I'm in the market for a new general purpose work/light gaming laptop and it's taking a lot of my self control to not pull the trigger on a good one right now.

Feels bad man

Attached: 666.png (1531x902, 842K)

why would you buy an outdated motherboard?

I would, but can't afford one. The GPU I got after the hurricane for pretty cheap. Suspiciously cheap.

Would recommend the 2060 and save a few bucks on top of having slightly higher performance. This is assuming you're nowhere near 4k.

name a better one for that price and features.
I waited for the CES.
AMD said NO BLYAT ANOTHER 6 MONTHS OF WAITING CYKA!

I am still fucking around with my i7 920.
Fuck that shit I am getting a new PC NOW.

>2060 still not on OP
Wtf

>Supporting goytracing

wait for computex to buy everything ....

I'm sitting on a i5 2500k and have been since 2011.
I really want to upgrade to a new platform (I struggle with new games), but I fear Intel 10 or whatever AMD has will blow anything out there right now out of the water.
Should I play the waiting game one more year? Or just take the plunge with a Ryzen or 9700k?

Whats a better alternative? Not trying to argue, just curious. It looks really nice for its price.

You have 2 choices.
Buy a 9700k + 2060 or Wait for Computex and see what amd offers.
It's very likely that the 9700k still trashes ryzen 3000 in games.

Even if you dont mind the goytracing it's still the best value pick for 1440p currently

>9700k and 2060
That's exactly the pair I was eyeing!
In Canada the prices are kinda crazy thanks to the shitty dollar, so a 2070 was kind of out of my range (~800 CAD)
I got the cash burning a hole in my pocket so once the 2060s are in stock at the shop I'll probably go for it.
Thanks user.

It depends of your monitor, which you didn't mention. But yeah, for high framerates at 1080 and if you don't want to delid dis, it's a decent choice.

I'm still a 1080p boy for now but I'm thinking about switching to maybe 1440p in the future

The GPU might not be able to output as many frames as you'd like at 1440p, but it should be decent enough at 1080p.

Third option: Get a 2600 now with a mobo that will be sure to handle ryzen 3000, and then upgrade to a high end 3000 during a big sale.

Yeah, I'm still 1080p for the foreseeable future.
And as for 1440p, I kind of figured it'd be lacking, but I don't own anything that outputs that resolution right now so that doesn't worry me too much.

Just mainly looking for stability in games like BFV and beyond at 1080p high-ish settings. I can hardly manage low as it is right now with a 2500k and RX480 4GB

See
I should have made one comment, I suppose.

>28.05.2019
and then
>wait for that announcement

I am sitting with this build for 10 years now.
2700x or 3000x doesn't even matter now since I am not gaming that hardcore games anymore and for work stuff it is strong enough.

Just keep waiting bro ... just a little longer ...

Looking to build a modest computer with a budget of around ~$1,000 (I can go up some). Not huge into games, but play them occasionally.
Having issues finding a build that doesn't feel like I am wasting money.

Not sure on the mobo or GPU mostly. Also, unsure if I am over of under doing the CPU.

Attached: 1546710142182.jpg (400x400, 22K)

>Also, unsure if I am over of under doing the CPU
You're doing wank mostly. Either it's not good enough for high FPS gaming, or it's not good for multi-threaded workloads, or it's too expensive for just 60FPS @1080p. Worst value. What are you going ot use your PC for? I assume yo have a 1080p 60Hz monitor; is it correct?

i have a friend that wants to build a medium range gaymen pc for some older games. his budgets 2k usd but he doesnt want to spend alot. his goal was to play mgs5 so it seems reasonable considering its an older game

Hes gonna be playing on a 1080p monitor. Thinking of building it around a gtx1060, an i5 or i7 and 16 gb ram of what ever the fuck corsairs peddling. Any suggestions? Should he shell out alot for other components like fans and power supply or are the cheaper alternatives doable?

At 2k USD he could be aiming higher than a boring 1080p 60Hz monitor. A 1080p 60FPS build would be under one grand.

I haven't kept up with computers or anything about them in years. I am mostly using it for multi tasking. I game like maybe a few times a month. I don't have that monitor and have no idea why I would need it.

>I am mostly using it for multi tasking
What do you mean by that? Give some examples.
>I don't have that monitor and have no idea why I would need it
It's not a model, it's a spec. It means a 1920x1080 monitor with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Is it the kind of monitor you have?

>What do you mean by that? Give some examples.
Fucking around in PS and editing videos. Also, I am autistic and like to leave programs running and jump back and forth.
>It's not a model, it's a spec. It means a 1920x1080 monitor with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Is it the kind of monitor you have?

Wait

Just bought a 580 8gb off of amazon for 189. How did I do?

Any recommended settings for a vega 64 undervolting? I am currently playing around with the frequency and was trying to find a sweet spot. Is there a way to set fan speed rpm in AMDs program? I only see a percentage option for the power draw for the fan speed relative to temperature.

I have a Vega64 and an i7-5820K, would 850W be a little overkill? Looking to replace my old ass PSU.

user, it's right here in the specs sheet.

Aside from that... It's a bit different to what I'm used to cook. For maximum multitasking, I've put a 2700 and 32GBs of RAM. If you're not hell bent on overclocking, this motherboard will be more than enough; it's a pretty good motherboard. If you're doing video editing you could benefit from a NVMe SSD rather than a regular SATA one, but that's about 100 more bucks. The case is boring but works; it could use two front intake fans. If you're willing to spend the dosh, there are other more silence oriented options, but obviously they tend to run hotter. I picked a 580 8GB, which should be enough for some 1080p 600FPS gaming currently. If you game only infrequently I'm not even sure it's going to be useful, but you have the budget so why not.

When should I worry about condensation?

What should be the budget to build a gaming pc that should run most of the games that are coming out this and the next year with high graphics settings?

1900

Thanks for helping me out. Yeah, I could go up to $1500 if needed. I'll see if I can find a case with the fans. I'm so used to my vacuum cleaner PC now that sound proofing isn't a big deal.

>Computex

being a little optimistic there, buddy.

Amazing price/performance, what model?

What are some good 140mm exhaust fans? I need 2
with the way my system is set up one fan would be right above the cooler and the other would be inches away from where the air is being blown from the CPU cooler

Just keep the case and change the fans. Two intakes, one exhaust.

any other 8700k+1080ti turbo chads here?

Attached: 1543603707496.png (500x629, 590K)

Depends of the definition and framerate.

>very like that 9700 still trashes ryzen 3000 in games
lol and where is the source on that, firmly shoved up your ass? if the 8c/16t chiller beats the 9900k then how will it be """trashed""" by the 9700?

>ties in cinebench where amd is favored
you just know that ryzen 3000 will continue being trash in gaymes and real life apps

Im aware but the idea was to keep yhe build cheap. He has 2k but if he xan hed pay less. His original goal was a fucking all in one pc with a nvidia mx130, what ever the fuck that is, for 1100.

Heres the plan i had. Its obviously prrtty high priced and more than what he expects, but thats to be expected if you dont include the kb, monitor and mouse

Lol im retarded. Forgot the pc buolder link

pcpartpicker.com/list/TfvgyX

I should also mention my friends a total normalfag so hes not to deep into pc building and specs. He just wants to run gayms

get a cpu that isnt a housefire

eat my farts fag

Dumb question:
Do CPUs come with thermal paste or do I need to buy that separately?

user, fix your typing. You look drunk.

Anyway, if all he cares is 1080p 60FPS gaming and as I wrote, you can make something under 1k easily. A 8700K is wasted if he has a shit 60Hz monitor. You can't even cool it properly with a 212 Evo anyway...

>pcpartpicker.com/list/XyBQvn

Only if they come with a CPU fan, then it's pre-applied

I'm dealing with audio desync issues with a new build (particularly with youtube). Using my monitor's audio output remedies that problem, but it's only a line out 3.5 jack, and I'd prefer not use it considering it's a low quality output. Not sure if this is a software/driver related issue or a hardware issue. So far uninstalling the manufacturer driver and using a generic HD audio device driver doesn't fix the issue, and both the rear I/O and front panel connectors put out the same desync. I think this could just be a faulty audio chip on the motherboard, and if so, I need a way to bypass the chip.

>mx130 for 1100
good move dodging that one, you almost got jewed.
For reference the MX150 is basically just a mobile version of the GT1030. The MX150 would do mid range old games fine, but not the 130.

>get a cpu that isnt a housefire

works on my machine :^)

Hm. I see. Doesnt amd usually have compatability issues with some games? Its the reason why i focued on intel and nvidia components

Is the pre-applied stuff passable or worth keeping?

It's preapplied on the cooler.
Any aftermarket cooler you buy will also come with its own. Usually the coolermaster ones come with a nice tube of decent paste.

that build is fucking garbage
here's something not retarded
pcpartpicker.com/list/PctXq4
If you want sound get a audio technica MSR7, dont bother with pc speakers they are fucking horrible, aslo you can swap the Vega 64 out for a 1080 or 2060 based on preference

Well, let's just say that if you're bothering with the thermal paste, you're also bothering with not using a stock cooler.

No, it's not 2009 any more.

>imagine having an nhd15 and still reaching 90c
i guess you don't have to imagine right?

Attached: Jewishshilllyingon4chan.png (3764x1540, 1.14M)

>Doesnt amd usually have compatability issues with some games?
No. Intel has performance advantage in gaming with the high end CPUs while AMD does better in applicative works. But as I wrote a 8700K is completely wasted on a 60Hz monitor so it's pointless to pay more for something you can't see. As for GPUs... no, AMD has fixed their shit drivers. Now both NVidia and AMD have equally crappy drivers, for the enjoyment of every gamer.

>laughed at the ray tracing memes
>mfw day 1 purchase of 2060 to save money
Life throws you curveballs.

Being a consumerist cuck with 0 self control isn't a curveball retard.

But user, when your life flashes before your eyes, how much of it do you want not to be ray traced?

>posts 9900k temps when the dude had an 8700k in his partslist

poor attempt, rabbi.

Usually stock coolers are decent enough to handle light overclocking, but "light" depends on the CPU in question.
I also wouldn't dare use the stock cooler with any intel housefires.

Should I get just an SSD or should I get a small SSD for a boot drive then put all my programs and games on an HDD?

That AIO will keep a 8700k pretty cool, even overclocked.

Looking for a monitor but not sure what i'm looking for.
>Going to use it mainly for photo editing and drawing, internet and gaming
>Not sure if 144hz is worth it for me since i don't really play FPSs except maybe Doom
>Probably going for a 24" screen so 1440p seems worthless unless i go 27"
>Max budget is around $400 CAD, having a credit card with a $500 limit fucking sucks
So far i've been leaning toward between two Asus monitors, the 75hz one costs about $100 less than the 144hz one so i'm wondering if i should just get the 75hz since i'm not a competitive FPS player.

Attached: 1181e7b274c454445501d4.jpg (2145x1430, 1.08M)

A ssd makes a big difference in games that have a lot of loading so any open world game or strategy games like total war. I'd say do either a 512 or a couple 256's, one for os and applications, the other for games. You can add a 1tb hdd for storage and other games that aren't load heavy.

With current SSD prices, it's not worth it to get any lower than ~500GB. My preferred setup is one 1TB SSD for your daily use and a big HDD for backup purposes.

The Jow Forums nerds can fight me but as far as im concerned ssds are a meme and your moneys better spent on higher hdd capacity
>but m-m-muh speeds

So you have to wait ten seconds for your pc to turn on oh my what ever will you do.

Wait until ssds are at the same capacity as hdds for the same price as they are now then theyre worth it

But if you really want one, nvmes are faster. Go sanic fast

Yeah so what if 90% of my 10tb are unused, at least I got the better deal on space XD

Thoughts on this? I have a 1440p monitor and plan to get a 2060 with this.

pcpartpicker.com/list/tMWMQZ

Bitch i wish i had 10tb to store all my shit

1440p at high framerates? Then yes, it works. I'd target higher than a 2060 tho' if I cared about high framerates.
