I don't know how it works at Mozilla, but at my large corporation, our feminist coding groups do hackathons and such on the regular, but no software is ever produced from them.
Instead, they write down half-baked ideas, demo their "invention" like one might in elementary school with a power point presentation they stand and read to you, and if they sucked the correct C level clit their project gets funding and is immediately transferred to the actual developers.

Not when they're also useless on firefox. XUL was powerful and the only way to properly implement some things. Adblocking on XUL was much more powerful than on webextensions for example, though it still works without XUL. Now though, that might not be the case anymore.

I mean, I hate some of Mozilla's political views too, but their browser offers the best for my needs and since it's a technical company I appreciate their technical work and use it. also I had the chance to talk to some Mozilla employees at technical conferences in the past and they're not even all politically sided as people may think. Now just because a random security team neckbeard with no decisional power praised Google's choice on reddit it doesn't mean Firefox will follow Google when they never really responded to their invite to cooperate.

There was an archive link in another thread. The comments deleted were low quality ones that amounted to "I don't like this and I will switch browsers", which are nothing more than low quality spam when actual developers are in the thread and are complaining about specific issues that will affect the extensions that they maintain.
