A central web server with browser clients is goofy. How distributed can you get?

everyone has an account, for moderation easy. make spaming, ban evading. everyone only show up as user. other than that maybe a rating system per posts but is off by default. the rating thing works best in small communities. once the community grows large enough rating is shit.
