Only reason I got an 8700 last year over a Ryzen build was because it was at some flash sale at my local store, it was $270 compared to the usual $320

I'll bet you the vast majority of people paying extra for K versions of CPUs never overclock anyway, so an 8700 isn't a bad choice.

i even put a big ass push pull noctua fan on it
