Cheapest one, obviously

Either the 3700x or the 3900x. Finally upgrading from my i7 970

I’m going to hold on to my 1800X a little longer to see if Intel tries to counter with a 12 core consumer part and AMD comes back with a 3950X 16 core part, but I’ll definitely get the top end.

Either the 3700x or the 3900x. Finally upgrading from my i5 6600K

this

3600 looks best value by far

The 3900X is going to have PassMark scores of at least 28,000 MT/3,000 ST, so it's going to be effectively the fastest desktop CPU in existence, for only $500 and a 105W TDP.

3600

3700x if I can get my mobo to accept it

None, still not getting rid of my 4.7Ghz 5930k.

have to wait for benchmarks

None. My 2600X will suffice. At least my MB supports the new CPUs.

coming from 1600x
I was hoping for $350 12c, I'll probably wait until Black Friday or whenever 16c drops and most of them get a price drop.
Or just yolo it and get a 24c threadripper once those are announced

IDK... I think my 2700x will be good until the Ryzen 4 chips.

Intel have no 12 core part planned for desktop, and their 10 core comet lake desktop part has now probably been delayed until 2020 with the news that the 9900KS is launching in Q4 this year

Probably 3700x or 3900x, waiting for benchmarks, though.

Maybe 3600(X) though no real reason to upgrade from 1600.
Probably waiting for AM5 already.

I just want a motherboard with support for huge BARs, preferably over 8GB, in order to have my Xeon Phi able to work on it.

Intel will try to get some measure of oneupsmanship over AMD, it will be a turd, of course, but I would expect AMD to twist the knife if they can. People say that they won’t cut into threadripper territory. But the 1900x has the same number of cores at the 1800X, just more HEDT goodness, so a 3950X wouldn’t surprise me either way. I’d expect zen 2 TR to come in at 16, 24, and 32 cores.

i do not feel the need to upgrade from my 1600x

The 5Ghz one

Might be a stupid question, but why isn't there a normal 3700?

Attached: 1551659921113.jpg (248x189, 18K)

The Athlon 3960X Anniversary Edition 5.2 GHz signed by Mommysu herself

3600 probably because I'm poor

2700X once the price inevitably drops due to the 3700X being released

a real shame if amd actually names them r9
changing names just to "compete" with the failure of i9
fucking rip

the cheapest 6c12t with integrated graphics.

Waitfag

i'm poor, otherwise i'd get the 3700x @65w

None because I don't have AMD's dick in my mouth at all times of the day like you and willingly buy new CPUs when my current ones are perfectly fine. You people are the cancer killing tech with your shitty consumerism tactics. You're the reason why websites need quad cores to even browse. You're the reason why tech is shit.

Kill yourself

3900x

2600.

3900X to replace my fx8350

Considering 3900X. Doing a complete rebuild.

same, maybe the 3950X if it comes out for those delicious 16 cores and 32 threads.

the 3700x or the 3700
after the prices drop ofcourse

Bought the 2700x last year with the Crosshair VII Hero. I might get the 3800x. Considering it. Otherwise, I'll keep my 2700x until Ryzen 4.

Literally a consumerist wage slave. It didn't bring happinesses.

I remember doing it before and it brought plenty of happiness, just gotta work a job that's a bit more slow-paced.

Is it necessary?

I have a four year old i5 running at 4.6 all cores in low temps.

Convince me to build a Zen 3 pc this autumn.

You would get more cores, more threads, more IPC, and the same high clock speed for less power

Zen 2*

>3700X and 3800X both same core counts, only 100mhz difference
>no non-X versions
This is retarded, the differences are so small it should've just been the 3700 and 3700X.
The 3800X name shouldn't exist.

Probably gonna stick with my 2700x and 1080ti.

So is that massive CPU cache going to help anything?

3600 for my Asus x470 since it's actually a pretty decent price and Asus already has bios updates.

3600X looks nice. Likely won't be getting it on launch, but that's the kind of part I'd go for if I were building a new PC.

The only ones worth buying for an upgrade are fucking expensive.
Is AMD turning into Intel or something? Normies aren't gonna switch to AMD without an obvious incentive

Yes, it contributes to the improved ipc

>Not waiting for benchmarks

>70mb cache
wtf

AdoredTV claimed on his twitter today that TR could have 5GHz base clock, the fucking madman, he never learns.

No 16core, no money for AMD.
Also when the 16C comes out it better fucking work on my Asus X370 because I'm not fucking buying a motherboard every 2 years.

Exactly this. Waiting for something more impressive than just price to performance. Waiting for games/productivity to even utilize what I already have.

I have a 4790k 4.6 chip that I don't know what to do with.

AMD will go for a crash grab when it can, back in the Athlon days the GHZ Athlon went for $1200 USD.

You are stupid or a zoomer if you think AMD is for the people.

amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
>Mommy Su giving you a free Athlon to upgrade your old BIOS so you can use your new ryzen CPU
BASED

I'll get a 3600 and a 3800X

So AMD is also an Israeli company, eh

Contributes to lower memory latencies, thus better perf in games.
IPC was increased by fixing the FPU

>No 16core, no money for AMD.
16 cores when shintel try to release comet lake

This, the only new addition is the 12 core.
I'm disappointed they haven't bumped up the core counts across the entire lineup.

I'll pass. 1600 werks just fine. I'll wait for 2nd gen ddr5 ryzen.

They're probably saving the 16-core part for when Intel tries to rush out their latest 14nm+++++++ Sandy Bridge rehash in an attempt to compete.

Why does the 3800X exist when all it does is slightly raise the base clock for 60 dollars more?

No need to upgrade my Ivy-E
It also underwent ME_Cleaner
Enjoy your PSP device

The 9900KS.

if the 3600 can get to 4.5 at 1.39, I'm fucking sold

Attached: 1451362912243.jpg (600x600, 70K)

Any publicly traded company is for profit and you're a fucking retard if you think otherwise.
Also the numbers were wrong it was $1299 if you buy in bulk (1000 units).

$1299 in March of 2000 is equal to $1939 in Apr of 2019. So basically AMD was selling CPUs for almost $2000 USD in today's dollars.

An Athlon 300G for my HTPC (are there any leaks of this one?)

Don't expect much as the 3200G is confirmed to be just a die shrunk OCed 2200G.

For now, nothing. The 4790 in my main pc is still plenty for what I do, and none of the vm's in my homeserver stresses my i5 2400.
Down the line I might upgrade my main pc though, and move the i7 to server duty, so I can upgrade the ram to 32gb that I can't on the el cheapo Sandy Bridge board.

user, are you referring to a Ryzen 3200G? I was meaning the Athlon 300GE as in this one:
amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-athlon-200ge
amazon.com/AMD-4-Thread-Processor-Graphics-YD200GC6FBBOX/dp/B07HJWVJDN/ref=sr_1_1?crid=138JVN6AKA7I9&keywords=athlon 200ge&qid=1559059608&s=gateway&sprefix=athlon 200g,aps,-1&sr=8-1

AM6? Why not wait for AM7?

And what was the price of the most expensive intel cpu at that time?

I want to see the OC potential of those 6c/12 threads

dont forget to turn off hyperthreading

Yeah I was refering to the R3 3200G they are both in the APU family so expect the 300GE as just a 14nm maybe 12nm higher clocked 200GE

>I'm waiting for the APUs, or at least for the prices of the 200GE, 2200G, and 2400G to decrease, of course.

>I don't have AMD's dick in my mouth at all times of the day like you
Go back to /v/ then

The Pentium III 1000mhz edition which came out after the Athlon GHZ retailed for $990

The model before that the Pentium III 800 was $851

where is the 16 core? i refuse to upgrade unless i get double the cores

Got a shark and some medium quality patches in the mail today

3900x, I've survived on an i5 650 until now, I deserve it.

Already have a 2600X no need to upgrade till DDR5/AM5

stop gayposting

3700x + x570 ( from i7 2600k/z77 )

MFW intcels have resorted to hypothetical price gouging fear mongering because they have nothing left

Attached: 1439095961708.jpg (727x639, 115K)

I don't think I'll be able to justify anything more expensive than the 3700X to myself, as long as the 4 thread performance can somewhat keep up with the others.

3600 looks pretty dank, will probably get that and a cheap rx 580 8gb to supplement it
and L E Ds

Same, I turned off the spectre and meltdown mitigation and don't feel like spending more money for sameish performance. Really wish I got AMD before, crypto was great for their GPUs, missed 2 moons that way. Intel was a no brainer for processors unlike long ago and recently. If only I waited a few more years it would have been better.
Can't wait for Keller vs Keller.

delete this

Same. DDR5, PCIe 5, is a much more appealing upgrade.

why? SATA vs NVME has no real world difference. My video card is 1.0, a P106 and the performance is the same as a 1060 6GB, plus with cloud gaming looming (maybe 1st gen will be shit but 3rd won't) seems like that won't make a difference anyway. What will change?
