Intel have no 12 core part planned for desktop, and their 10 core comet lake desktop part has now probably been delayed until 2020 with the news that the 9900KS is launching in Q4 this year

Intel will try to get some measure of oneupsmanship over AMD, it will be a turd, of course, but I would expect AMD to twist the knife if they can. People say that they won’t cut into threadripper territory. But the 1900x has the same number of cores at the 1800X, just more HEDT goodness, so a 3950X wouldn’t surprise me either way. I’d expect zen 2 TR to come in at 16, 24, and 32 cores.
