Net Neutrality

>live in socialist hellhole
>socialists have the foresight to upgrade the telecom infrastructure in the 1990s
>optical fibers everywhere
>gubment sells bandwidth to whoever wants it
>ISPs fight for customers
>cheap as free Internet connections
>Google and Amazon relocate servers from the USA

Net neutrality existed since the Bush administration actually, but in principle and not name. All """Obama""" (actually Tom Wheeler) did was formalize it after a lawsuit made them rewrite FCC regulations.

Turns out when Reps still had some of a spine they realized keeping markets separate was a good idea.

US has faster speeds than most other countries in the world. And that include all flyover states added onto the average.

ISPs are not receiving money from Netflix, Facebook or Amazon. They are receiving money from customers and taxes
They just want an excuse to squeeze even more money from customers without upgrading their infraestructure.

What's the difference between downloading 3 TB of data from Netflix, a public FTP or PornHub? None. It's the same strain on the infraestructure, which is the entire purpose of Net Neutrality.

But be happy Jow Forumstard. You can keep on paying 200 Mb of speed and receive only 50 Mb. In any other industry that would Mr false advertising, but ISPs have convinced you that it's normal for ISPs because Netflix exists.

NN was the default since inception, the bill they passed was no more than a means to solidify it. Most of the false-flagging was perpetrated by government officials miscoloring the reception of NN by the smaller ISPs, they were concerned about compliance, but all of the hardware defaults to NN conventions anyways so it was just alarmist jank to poke holes and insinuate it was anti-competitive.

America literally tried that already and the ISPs collectively defrauded the whole country by spending those funds on cell towers

>strain on the infrastructure
That's a meme. Most of the Western world has no data cap and the infrastructure doesn't degrade faster

I dunno where you live but that looks like America to me

Net neutrality does not matter either way when you have local monopolies by law
