New games feel no more immersive than old games, if anything, they feel less so because the game has been simplified so much you only "press the A button".

Cloud amount & textures can be adjusted with sliders. Visibility and ceiling can be adjusted. Real world weather data can be imported, as well.

Except in the real world the bandwidth makes up for low latency. Having low latency does not create higher nominal bandwidth.
