why buy this when the Mi9T is cheaper, has a better SoC (SD730 vs 710), better camera setup (ultrawide AND telephoto), no notch and more RAM in the base model.

1 year old should not be old, its more about marketing and consumerism that makes us think in that way, its still fully capable and should be in the future. I mean probably note 5 is still capable of normal using except gayming and taking huashit leica tier pictures

It lacks a headphone jack and a micro SD card slot. That's just dumb. Some people also object to a mechanized front facing camera, but I don't really care because I'm not considering those particular models.
