Have you played Civilization? The answer is polders.
think that's total agricultural exports, which includes flowers
I never played that game
For starters, the flat land and fertile soil, coupled with a moderate climate makes for good farming conditions, where growing plants, crops and rearing animals, such as poultry and pigs can be done effectively and with relative ease. Also, the Dutch have become rather adept in the field of agri-technology, where they employ robots to pick soft fruit, and have automated meat separators and potato processors. There is a focus on intensive, but sustainable farming and not only does this mean efficiency, but social responsibility.
The Netherlands also places a great deal of importance on educating their agricultural workforce. Wageningen University is the world's number one institution for agricultural education, and in addition to this, twelve of the world's biggest food and drink companies have research and development facilities in the Netherlands. Among them are Danone and Heinz.
No just food
Located in Western Europe, the Netherlands is perfectly placed geographically for exports. They have an excellent infrastructure, and another sector that is currently enjoying a high is logistics. All of this has helped the Dutch become experts at trading, and although profit margins are tight they have been able to develop a healthy, sustainable and profitable agricultural sector that is lorded the world over.
Exports from Dutch farming were worth a staggering 85 billion Euros last year alone; a new record. The Netherlands export its farming produce far and wide, including eggs to the American market, apples and pears to Vietnam, and the German’s seem to love Dutch produce, as they account for 25 per cent of all exports.
The Dutch economy relies heavily on the agriculture sector and on exports, to the tune of 83 per cent of its GDP, which explains why they can export so much food. They are the sixth largest economy in the eurozone and so the Forex market is an important factor in determining overall economic growth and profits from export. The growth in agricultural exports reflects what seems to be a broader upturn in the Dutch economy.
all they ever need to consume are those mommie milkies.
everything else is just surplus
Interesting
port of rotterdam
trade
they import a lot of stuff that they re-export to their neighbours
Modt of it is actually not from trade, but home grown. More than half of our nation consists of farmland. If you leave a coty of village your literally one ditch away from farmland.
But the trick is a combination of intensive automated farming and exporting expensive products. You can go for scale (tomatoes) or price (tulips).
*if you leave a city or village
But we also automate a lot. And genetically engineer a lot of plants for perfect crops.

By literally stealing German clay that flows down the Rhine. The Dutch use it to reclaim the sea, hence it is actually German territory.
>shit ton of greenhouses, which can even be seen from space
>top tier agriculture universities
>farmers have historically a very big lobby, even within the government
>compact urban planning and very little nature leaves a very high percentage of the country being farmland
>very efficient and competitive farming and agriculture sector that incorporates a lot of new technologies like drones and automation
>trading hub of Europe which also means a lot of transit goods
Downside is that pigs and cows are literally shitting up the country and we're breaking EU laws regarding phosphate levels in manure
Nice meme but the Dutch and Belgians were the og Franks. So all German and French Clay is actually theirs
Comfy. The machines are taking over.
Nice meme but a famous Austrian artist said that all Germanics should be under one flag
I heard some countries still have h*mans work in farming and logistics.
Cool. Can we also replace politicians with A.I. ?
Seems like a good next step.
>he doesnt know Mark Rutte is a smiling robot and the King a waving robot
What did he mean by this?
The opposition party is trying to make an argument. Activate the laugh track.
I do know. I merely asking for the rest to be replaced too.
