I highly recommend the immersion route. If you know you can switch to another language your brain will not commit completely to learning the language. I also recommend reading simple spanish books, like the alchemist

Im pretty soon about to start learning Spanish, does anyone have any ideas for primary sources I could use? something to structure my learning around, but Id rather not torrent.

qué se puede hacer con español? he estudiado español para cuatro años y ahora vivo en méxico (california) y todavia no me importa usarlo. ya casi olvidé todo. hay beneficios de hablar español? estoy estudiando japones y es increíble. las noticias, las universidades, el país, los cartoons, el porn, todo. Y qué se puede obtener con aprender español? un mutt novia, drogas, ideas izquierdistas, tv programas muy malos, y dubs españoles de progamas americanas. Un día, voy a ser chino.

Inmersion could help: listening to spanish music, watching spanish shows (with subs), putting your videogames in spanish...
