Country-wide population density is not that telling of a statistic. Usually countries are split between massive metropolitan areas, and vast expanses of empty fields, with little in between. I would say an ideal population density would be around 60. A smaller population would mean more resources for everyone in the long run.

I don't know why the new world has such shit public transport. It not desnly populated here but population is also way more centralised. In every state except Queensland almost everybody lives in the capital. Which are also centralised around built up centre.
