Tanning is protective mechanism for wh*te skin. Anglos have some kind of failure regarding that feature, maybe due to unfortunate mutation. But others will burn too if they try to tan too fast or when the uv-dosage is too heavy for the skin to recover.

Polish American here, I don't think I've ever burned but my skin has a yellowish tone to it even in winter. Most of my celtic/germanic friends get really pale, like paper pale or pinkish which probably has something to do with it

Retarded tourists don't realize there's a billion types of creams so that you don't go full lobster. They also don't realize that you're not supposed to just go and stay in the sun for the entire day when it's 35ºC, especially not as your first exposure to scorching heat.
Take it easy and you won't become like that, I've been to Australia and the place is fucking hot but Australians are not red, they're perfectly tanned.
