Quick rundown is that they have been subprime lending, WFC has $81B in exposure they don't have on paper, BAC $30B, at minimum. Loan defaults rising in auto, student, CRE. Loan & deposit growth slowing. Earnings not great when the tax rebate is taken into account. Autoloan defaults approaching ATH (08 Recession), student defaults approaching ATH

Saudis have also spend the last two years trying to cut the supply glut with the explicit purpose of raising the price of oil. News came yesterday of crude and gasoline draws.

That said it feels like too much too fast. There's an argument to be had about how much of Syria's instability has already been baked into oil prices and how much is waiting to happen. US producers are ready to ramp up production with price.
