Australia needs your help

How do we build a country with lots of cities rather than a few big ones? People only want to move to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to the point of overcrowding, even though we obviously have heaps of habitable land elsewhere. We basically have no idea how to incentivise moving to non-famous towns.

Which countries are good at doing this that we can learn from?

If Australia needs my help, why wouldn't it let me fuckng in?

thats because modernity leads to urbanisation. Every other more spread out country is like it is because they didn't get almost their entire population in the 20th century.

Just make sure it has good communication, that is all.

It’s because only like two percent of your country is livable.

Totally wrong. Currently the land could support 100 million people and once we figure out terraforming we will be able to support about 700 million.

we built two cities out of nothing in the 20th century, can make a national capital so it's full of stable jobs, ottawa, brasilia, canberra
calgary was nothing 100 years ago, but by having the lowest taxes and for a long time low cost of living they got a bunch of companies to move and set up headquarters there

You basically need good river systems and flat land to sustain large population centers. The only such places in abundant are on the east coast, there are already towns small cities established there, and they absolutely have the potential to grow into major cities. No one will help it along tho, because you cant attract people to something that isnt there yet. And even if you build a major city from the ground up, you risk having the problem the Chinese had where no one moves there and you're left with a big ass empty city.

Places like Geeolong and Toowoomba are growing really quickly
housing prices in the capitals does that

Guys, let us in, we will build entire new towns by ourselves. I hate winter.
