I thought the Wermacht was supposed to have been better than the US Army, just overwhelmed by numbers, but Americans took 8 million prisoners in Europe by the end of the war?

>The Western Allies also took 134,000 German soldiers prisoner in North Africa[58] , and at least 220,000 by the end of April 1945 in the Italian campaign[58] . The total haul of German POWs held by the Western Allies by April 30, 1945 in all theatres of war was over 3,150,000, rising in NW Europe to 7,614,790 after the end of the war.[59]

>It is worth noting that the Allied armies which captured the 2.8 million German soldiers up to April 30 1945, while Hitler was still alive and resisting as hard as he could, comprised at their peak 88 divisions[60] which amounted to roughly 1.2 to 1.4 million men. The casualties suffered by the Western Allies in making this remarkable contribution to the defeat of the Wehrmacht were relatively light, 164,590 killed and 78,680 taken prisoner[61] , a total loss of 243,270 to inflict a loss of 2.8 million on the German army.

Wow, Germs got wrecked as hard by the US as they wrecked the Soviets.

In the last days of/the days after the war literally anyone was trying to get the fuck to the west to get away from he mongol subhumans.
My grandfatehr did the same. When he heard of the capitulation he took his gun apart, threw the pieces in the ditch and moved west as fast as he could - and luckily made it before the commies could get him.
He always told us that the burgers were pretty nice guys, he just hated the brits.

>from he mongol subhumans.
>unironically calling anyone subhuman after what many of our soldiers did in the east

Waldemar, was geht?

häng dich weg du Spast

Definitely. They knew if they surrendered to the US or British army, they had a proportionately lower chance of being sent to Siberia to mine gold in -26 degree temperatures and receiving mandatory education in Marxism-Leninism.

At the end of the war there were very old and very young Germans men left.
Most of best middle-aged Aryan Germans died in--between 1941-1944

>be German
>be taken POW by the US Army
>be sent to the US to pick vegetables, have the freedom to travel anywhere you want (because it's not as if you were going to swim across the Atlantic and escape back home)
>sometimes even fall in love and marry American women

>be German
>be taken POW by the Soviet army
>be sent to prison camp in Siberia or Kazakhstan
>eat food they wouldn't give to animals
>perform forced labor in extreme heat and cold
>be subjected to mandatory political reeducation and forced to write confessions that you waged war on the peaceful Soviet people
>die of exhaustion, malnutrition, and pneumonia

>be Russian
>be taken POW by the German army
>be put in concentration camp or simply executed on the spot
>if you got home alive, be denounced by your own countrymen as a traitor to the motherland and gulaged for the next 10 years

>be anybody
>be taken prisoner by the Japanese army
>be subjected to assorted brutal treatment because surrendering is shamefuru dispray and you deserve it
>be subjected to human experimentation in Unit 731

>be American
>be taken POW by the German army
>put in dirty prison camps with bad food, not really subjected to physical abuse, but told that you shouldn't be fighting Germany, they're really your friends and the Jews made you do it and you should be joining forces with them to fight Bolshevism instead

It's just wehraboo memes. Germany's industry was much smaller, their logistics were dependent on horses, most of the Wehrmacht wasn't mechanized and so soldiers just walked everywhere, they were chronically short on fuel, Americans had semi-automatic rifles, etc. Their strategy against France worked and that's the only reason they have a reputation as some sort of unstoppable army.

>be American
>be brainwashed
>be living in simple world of good and bad guys
>never left US
>get shot

Despite only a short land frontier, Germany had considerably more difficulties supplying their front line troops than the US did with 3000 miles of ocean to transport supplies across. Veterans recalled seeing how GIs carelessly loaded gasoline into vehicles, often spilling it out, while German soldiers were incredibly careful when filling up a vehicle's gas tank since they could not afford to waste a single drop of fuel.

>if you got home alive, be denounced by your own countrymen as a traitor to the motherland and gulaged for the next 10 years

>Gfs (Russian) great-grandfahter became POW in Germany
>had to work at a butcher
>when he came home he told his family he had the best time ever, was treated really well, never had that much meat to eat
>short time after the commies came by, took him, said he was an enemy of the people or some bullshit and shot him
Russians really did not fuck around...

Also:
>his son fought untill somewhere in the 90s (at this time already and old man himself) against the state for the rehabilitation of his father and for him to be properly burried (iirc they burried him upside down/face down or something)

well that wasn't so much a problem of logistics as there was barely any oil in the first place
In terms of technology, Germany was generally on par, however the US weapons were newer and therefore usually a tad better. The main problem however was the lack of industrial power and first and foremost the lack of all kinds of resources, from manpower to food to oil to metals etc

>Be American
>be taken POW by neutral Switzerland
>anally raped by Slavs

>For instance, the American airman Sergeant Daniel L. Culler was one of the first USAAF airmen and was sent to Wauwilermoos in June 1944. His B-24 was piloted by Lt. George B. Telford and landed at the Dübendorf airfield on 18 March 1944. On 12 May of that year Culler, the B-24's tail gunner Howard Melson and the British soldier Matthew Thirlaway had slipped away from Adelboden, where they were interned
>Culler's good clothes were confiscated by Béguin in return to "old dirty rags." Sent to barracks 9, Culler was repeatedly raped by internees from Eastern Europe. He reported to the camp commandant André Béguin and some of the guards, who laughed and sent him back.

>Fifteen other American bombers landed safely or crash-landed in Switzerland that day. Some of them had been fired on by Swiss pilots and flak gunners. This was not unusual. By the end of the summer of 1944, over a thousand Americans would be in Swiss hands, held under military guard and forbidden from leaving the country for the duration of the war.

>In the last two years of the war, the “benevolent hosts” of the American airmen threw 187 of them into one of the most abhorrent prison compounds in Europe, a punishment camp run by a sadistic Nazi. One of these unfortunates was Daniel Culler. Culler was never told why he was sent to Straflager Wauwilermoos, or for how long. As he passed through the gates of the prison, his military guard whispered to him. “I’m sorry to bring you to this hellhole. Watch your every step. There are some awful men in here, and you are so young.”

>“What happened to me that night, and many more to follow, was the worst hell any person ever had to endure,” Culler wrote in his searing prison memoir. A group of Russian prisoners held him down, stuffed straw in his mouth, and sodomized him repeatedly. “Coming from a small farming community, I never heard of men doing to me what they did. I... hadn’t even been with a girl, except to hold her hand and give her a light kiss on her cheek or mouth. I was bleeding from all the openings of my body, and I prayed to God to take my life from me.”

>be swiss
>shoot down both allied and axis aicraft

Is there any country more alpha?

>He was raped again the next morning and forced to have oral sex with several of his assailants, who stuck sticks in his mouth to pry it open. After being knocked unconscious, he awoke to find blood running down his throat. Too weak to move, and with his hands tied behind his back, he was thrown into the waste ditch outside the barracks. “When I finally came to my senses, I crawled from the ditch and tried to wipe myself with straw. I noticed something was hanging from my rectum, and realizing it was skin from the inside, I tried to push it back in.”

>Within days Culler’s entire body was covered with boils from the lice and rats in the feces-contaminated straw. The rapes continued and became more violent. He began to vomit blood and an unknown yellow substance, and he developed chronic, bloody diarrhea.

>When Culler was finally taken from Wauwilermoos and given his day in court, he discovered that Swiss justice was a mockery. The military court proceeding was conducted entirely in German, and when it was over, Culler was handed an English translation of the transcript. He would be sent back to Wauwilermoos without medical treatment and for an unstated period of time. The transcript did not contain a single word of his oral testimony describing his rape and the conditions inside the prison. The final indignity was a bill Culler received for 18 francs—compensation for the court’s time and trouble.

>Back in prison, Culler was tormented by a loud ringing in his ears—the result of beatings suffered at the hands of the Russians. They had been transferred, but sitting alone in a corner of the barracks, wrapped in a thin blanket, Dan Culler felt he was losing his mind. “The last I remember at Wauwilermoos, I was acting like a madman, trying to stuff straw down my throat so I could not breathe. After that everything went black.”

>but Americans took 8 million prisoners
At the end, everybody was running West from the Ruskies

A lot of German weapons and ammunition especially was made by slave labor and of course slave workers are not generally that motivated to deliver high quality workmanship. It was noted that a lot of German shells were defective and didn't explode when they hit their target while American shells nearly always worked.

>while American shells nearly always worked.

You got any idea of how often parts of German cities are still today evacuated because they still find bombs that did not explode?

BTW, if you guys hadn't figured it out, this is that CIDF Singaporean who always posts anti-US rants.

yes that's correct, but that's not due to bad design

Oh dear.

The Werhmacht never had vehicles and trucks as good as the US Army, nothing comparable to the Jeep or 6x6 and since Europeans did not own cars outside of the upper class at that time, few German soldiers had any skills as a mechanic or knew how to repair a tank when it broke down while GIs would routinely fix busted tanks.

Yeah, that guy. He's probably another white dude with a VPN anyway. All the same, bomber pilots were in a risky business since if they got shot down, they were liable to be set upon and beaten or lynched by the locals before the authorities could get to them.
