Be Ukraine

>be Ukraine

Centralized housing is a good thing
You don't want to be like americucks who don't have buses and drive 3 hours everyday just to get to work and back

You know, there's a healthy medium between sprawl and commieblocks.

You don't want to be Japan either

Western European cities have the best density

Attached: 1512751736536.jpg (2048x1536, 1.31M)

Fucking this Even soviets didn't build this way.

agreed

Attached: 00s.jpg (1100x732, 336K)

It's okay.

Attached: Wuppertaler_Zooviertel_0001.jpg (2560x1920, 2.43M)

Huh how come?

Jesus, I really can’t understand it. You could build stuff about 7 stories with shops on the bottom and make Ukraine a really nice place.

But on the other hand development in America is equally retarded.

Siberia is one of the least densely populated places on earth (2/km2), yet most people live in highrise apartment blocks

Attached: 1446236779610.jpg (1000x582, 77K)

Prolly simply for energy efficiency and because of a scarcity of construction materials. A lot of stuff would have to be brought in over thousands of kilometers.

soulless

Because in Ukraine everyone wants to live in Kiev since it's the only place in the whole country are higher than $300/month

why does every european city look the same

western european*

Take off that proxy, dude.

It's more efficient in terms of land use to build near the street. The height of the buildings is partly due to the fact they were built before elevators became widespread. For example, units on the first floor were the most expensive.

I will gladly move in to one of those empty apartments and marry and have kids in exchange for EU citizenship. Thank you.

Ukraine is not EU member though?

I thought they gained EU citizenship during that whole Kiev protest.

It's Ukraine m8, just go save a local hottie and bring her back here.

I visited Zaporizhia once. It was weird, parts of it were extremely dense and industrialized and overall ugly, while other parts looked like a normal European city. Also a lot of dudes dressed up like Cossacks, but I guess that makes sense.

Why don't they plant some flowers or something? That awful bland grass just makes it feel even more hollow. It would be better if it were just a concrete slab at this point.

Other way around. Most eastern European and Scandinavian cities look very similar to Germany. France, Britain, Italy and Iberia are different.

>That awful bland grass just makes it feel even more hollow.
Now you know how everyone else feels about American front lawns.

Thankfully, that boomer meme is dying out. More people are starting to accept their natural dirt/rock/etc. lawns instead of dumping tons of money into making them look like a mat of green plastic. Or they accept the natural flora of their region and get beautiful lawns with the local flowers, shrubs, trees, etc. instead of those terrible uniform patches.

That would get you daily fines here until you fixed it

It's not the same all over Ukraine, in the cities the density will be higher.

Fucking this, unless you live in a big city with buses/subway then it's impossible to reasonably walk to a store or restuarant.

It's based on this retarded idea that "we won't get business unless we put ourselves within 10 feet of another busines" which is stupid because if you put a gas station in a residentual area ofcourse it will get business.

Yes it won't get all the business, but that nieghborhood is more inclines to go there because it's closer and more conveniant. Even a restuarant would do well there.

don't they only build that in kiev?

It would depend on the neighborhood. If you're moving into suburbia you'll probably have to deal with power tripping cunts who want everything to be the same. If you're moving into a small town then nobody will care what you do with your space.

>want to build a 5000 sqft retail business in the US
>codes require you to have at least 15000 sqft of parking lot to get a building permit

>going full retard on Jow Forums
LMAO

Now I understand why you are so eager to bomb other countries, you are fucking clueless.

It's all about the land prices,

how much studio costs there?

they only got a visa-free regime with the EU, while losing like 25% of their GDP and their currency's value dropped by 75%

always love people like you

what a prosperous country we lost, such a fucking shame

Here are some elite commieblocks in my city. But yes, there are much less of them and they are not as packed.

Attached: dds.jpg (1200x800, 311K)

Also this beauty.

Attached: 14744.jpg (800x533, 373K)

10/10 would rent

Now you don't even have those 432 dollars, higher prices, lost territories, more than ten thousand of dead people, and several million running wherever they can - Russia, Poland, Czechia.
Really nice one...

Well, so according to Ukrainian propaganda, earning 150 euros is better than earning 432 euros?

that's what the maidan was jumping for?

There's a lot of space in between them that could be used for shops or more smaller housing. You could still save some of the park areas but a lot of it just seems wasted to me.

dont forget the territory they lost as well

Attached: 1528433926585.jpg (713x611, 182K)

>You could still save some of the park areas but a lot of it just seems wasted to me.

Typical commie planning.

>build extremely tall buildings
>leave empty space between them where only dogs walk and poop

why are you wannabe europeans imitating russia so much?

do they leak? here there's a big problem where people buy condos, then have to spend more money on repairs or have the condo confiscated

smaller housing requires a lot more to heat, commieblocks make sense in some environments

>look mommy i made the thread again
fuck off

Attached: ochanomizu tokyo.jpg (1600x1063, 330K)

70/km2 is still high

its nice if you plant cherry plum trees
then kids climb and eat it even if its bitter and inedible and get herpes or something

>its nice if you plant cherry plum trees

>if
>if

that's the problem in commie urban planning, they build blocks but nothing for the people, they don't care about space around them, they don't care about people's needs at all

they have to build a lot of blocks because it's their task included in the plan but quality and meeting actual people's needs isn't important

Central housing wouldn't fix the retarded way many of our cities are built via the sprawl.
Boomers could not into basic thinking, instead they got a fuckton of greed.

Because Ukrainians and Russians are the same people, nobody just wants to admit it.

>70/km2

Attached: p.png (640x604, 237K)

Our cities would require a lot of ripping up and rebuilding to fix the retardation, especially anything built in the 50s and after. There is theoretical plans on how to convert a city to a car free model, but it's not well known or popular. People just aren't willing to go as far as I am.
carfree.com/

For fucks sake make a petition or some shit in crafting highschools where they go around town planting trees
thats how its done here, the highschool kids do it, the town gives the low amount of money for saplings and shit, allow them, the communal office stamps it and you have planted trees where they were needed
even before, it was a must to plant trees wherever something is being built
the towns that werent affected by the war have trees older than 80 years, some have hundreds

All what you want is 400 euros, spending your life in rotten from inside failed russian satellite? Divided like a fucking India on the rich and untouchables? No money in the world worth such a shitty place like a pre 2014 Ukraine.

Tokyo metro area has the population of whole Ukraine, you fucking moron.

I heard the differences between Ukrainian and Russian languages is comparable to American English and British English. Is that true? Because if it is, it's incredibly silly for you guys to hate each other in my opinion. You pretty much are the same people.

I didn't say anything related to that you sperg
Not theoretical

HK exists

Attached: kowloon street.jpg (806x600, 189K)

Believe me, Bosnia is western Europe comparing to Ukraine.

>Divided like a fucking India on the rich and untouchables?

what are you talking about?

>All what you want is 400 euros, spending your life in rotten from inside failed russian satellite?

is it better to get 150 euros in a failed American satellite?

People aren't willing to go that far because it quite literally cannot be done for almost if not all cities that are designed that way. Ffs our infrastructure is already getting shoddier and shoddier by the day.
>you pretty much are the same people
wew laddy lad lad

I'm saying car free. There are some active attempts to make things more transit oriented but they're being poorly implemented and designed at least here in the US. I'm talking a complete removal of private automobiles within the urban environment. A return to a more traditional urban form. There are plans for building new cities this way and converting old ones. It would be easiest to do in Europe because obviously practically all these cities were built before cars are in actuality designed solely for pedestrian and horseback travel. Though any city could be converted, it's just places like western US would be much harder to do.

>People aren't willing to go that far because it quite literally cannot be done for almost if not all cities that are designed that way. Ffs our infrastructure is already getting shoddier and shoddier by the day.
No it can be done, just costs money. Check the link I sent and look at conversions. I have the site authors books which go into more detail.

only old city cores were built before cars, the majority of city areas today are built with regular roads

>Because if it is, it's incredibly silly for you guys to hate each other in my opinion. You pretty much are the same people.
Just like how those Japs get along with the Chinks nicely
The lowrise european style is no longer possible with the large populations of cities, we'd have to go a bit higher, but it'd be nice if we can retain the architecture and basic grid plan of the old.
