Yeah, out of the 30 so tankobons that exist about 12 of them were adapted. The anime though has the advantage of being animated by motherfucking Shaft during their golden days, so it's worth all of your time. The manga also has metric fucktons of hilarious chapters that didn't make it, Kumeta-sensei's insane ramblings and one of the darkest endings I've probably ever read.
