>boomers in your country worked for $30/month for most of their life
>they got free apartments from the state and always had a job
>now they get $600/month pensions and spend almost nothing because they live in their own flats, while young people have to get a mortgage for 30 years if they want to have an apartment and can lose their job any time
Boomers in your country worked for $30/month for most of their life
That's why your moral duty is to leech off them until they die and then inherit their property
Is it the same in Serbia?
Yeah pretty much, most young people live with their parents and grandparents even if they have a job because no one can afford a new flat on their own
at least you all live in big houses, not in shitty commieblock flats
I live in a flat, not exactly commieblock though
the reason so many people live in houses is literally because of illegal construction, urban planning is non-existent and people just keep building on their own even in urban areas
>the reason so many people live in houses is literally because of illegal construction, urban planning is non-existent and people just keep building on their own even in urban areas
still better than commieblocks
every time I see this picture I always wonder if the weather there is hot or cold. Like, my initial reaction is thinking that it might be pretty hot, because of the amount of sunlight that is shining on the kids suit, which also makes me think that the suit is probably real thick and the sun is making the black suit evn hotter, that gives me the idea. But, looking around and seeing the trees, makes me think that it’s probably in the fall. So I’m assuming it’s actually quite chilly, perhaps like a frosty morning dew chill. Maybe even a little bit of wind makes this picture a bit cold
looks like early spring for me
Eh, they have their own charm, depends what you get
I live in a city center where the buildings are far older and in somewhat worse condition than commieblocks, they have to be maintained constantly because of their age
old architecture looks much better than commieblocks even when it's poorly maintained
that's true
>this air conditioning
that looks awful
It does, sadly many old buildings like that are packed with them, i wish there was a law against mounting them on old buildings because it just looks awful and degrading but it's Serbia and no one gives a shit about the law
pic rel is the same building before restauration
nice, I didn't expect Belgrade to have such nice architecture, I thought ex-Turkish cities are rather bland and lack European architecture
Belgrade is a city with every imaginable architectural style, Art Noveau, Art Deco, commie architecture, etc.
Older Ottoman period buildings look very nice and unique, pic related is one of them. There aren't many left
good for you
I wish we had a nice capital too
Haven't been to Warsaw but i've been to Krakow, it's an astonishing city
thats terrible, too bad you can't tear it down and just build a new one.
Also how do you pronounce warzawa?
Sounds like Canada but add a zero
>warzawa
varshava
>thats terrible, too bad you can't tear it down and just build a new one.
we would, if Germans paid us $850 billion of reparations they're legally obliged to pay but they refuse to do it
Kraków is like Zagreb or any other medium ex-Austria-Hungary town. Nothing special. Gdansk is much better. Warsaw is unfortunately totally bland and extremely "socialist-modernist".
It's weird how Warsaw skyline looks more and more like American cities
Nothing really weird, that's what pretty much every city that doesn't have the actual old town tries to look like nowadays.
Well, even cities that do have the old town follow the American way of development, just look at London, they're building like dozens of skyscrapers right now.
We have a district called New Belgrade which is basically a commie-built city just on the other side of Danube. It's all commieblocks and modern business buildings. Not skyscrapers, most of them are relatively tasteful modern buildings, but it still looks weird seeing old commieblocks and modern all-glass buildings joined together
Nah senpai, I disagree. Here we have a shit ton of Ottoman buildings and they look like something straight out of a middle eastern village. Neoclassical architecture on the other hand looks absolutely glorious. Such a shame how much of it here got replased with commie modernism
>Here we have a shit ton of Ottoman buildings
Could you post some? I like them, there aren't many left in Belgrade which is actually sad. Pic related is the single mosque left in Belgrade, it's from the 16th century
>if Germans paid us $850 billion of reparations they're legally obliged to pay
just curious, is this a legit figure or is it exaggerated?
New Belgrade = Capitalism vs Communism
