Lublin scholar Tomasz Kranz has established that the Nazis murdered 78,000 people at the Majdanek concentration camp—several times fewer than previous estimates.

Two figures of the number of Majdanek victims have usually been in use—360,000 or 235,000. Kranz, director of the Research Department of the State Museum at Majdanek, asserts that approximately 59,000 Jews and 19,000 people of other ethnic backgrounds, mostly Poles and Byelorussians, died there. Kranz published his estimate in the latest edition of the journal Zeszyty Majdanka.

The reason the Majdanek death toll went down is due to the Hofle Telegram. This was revealed in British archives in the year of 2000. The Hofle Telegram, which is a ciphered message telling about arrivals to the four Reinhard Operation Camps, gives the exact figure of 1,274,166 mentioned in the Korherr Report. It is most likely that when Korherr compiled the data for his report submitted to Himmler, he took the data of the Reinhard camps from Hofle.

Problem is, Hofle speaks of "arrivals", Korherr speaks of "departures". In other word, each and every person who went to T,B,S,M camps got out of there on his/her way to "The Russian East", according to Korherr.
Korherr mentions no deaths.
That is in contrary to the deaths he did mentioned in ghettos.

In one point in his report Korherr states that only a "partial of Russian Jewish deaths were recorded" - But Korherr mentions no such deaths in his report. He is, however, mentions "departures".

In the short version of his report Korherr states Europe lost half of his Jews. Half of this half, is due to departures. What happened to the other half of this half?
