I'm half italian, and I've been debating on whether to move to Italy or not. Would I be accepted in Italy as Italian or would I be considured a foreigner. My grandfather tells me most people except sicilians wouldn't have a problem with me as long as I spoke perfect Italian. Is this true? What do an Italians have to say.
Questions for Italians
ayy I'm walkin 'ere
>as long as I spoke perfect Italian
He's probably right if you want to larp as an Italian. You don't require it if you become "the american" of the village.
>I'm half x, I'm thinking of moving to x-land
>flag
pottery
Is your father the italian one?
Mine is.
Don't come to live in Trastevere. We're fucking full of Americans.
That's my favorite part of Rome tbqh
>mutt falling for the half Italian meme
>WE
No, you're not Italian. Period.
If your father is Italian you may claim Italian citizenship.
Still, you WON'T be accepted as Italian.
Yes, you need to speak Italian PERFECTLY.
You also need to have at least acquaintances in your neighbourhood.
And no, I'm not Sicilian.
TL;DR You are not welcome, fuck off we're full. ktxbye
>as long as I spoke perfect Italian.
checked flag, you don't
>EY I GOT PINKIE RINGS!
where i lige there are a lots of half french who have no problems to be "accepted", so maybe
>half French
no such thing
they're either larping as maybe-French to avoid taxes (la vallèè de mi ball) or not "half" at all, French are exceptionally smug
(and gay)
Chances are you're next to the French border which is actually a border with fake France
A murrican it's a different thing anyway, he will never realistically be accepted *AS Italian* in Italy
Luigi, not even you talk italian in your neighborhood. You italians just talk your shit dialetos
*in
>I'm half italian
>see the flag
ok this is epic
If you have that image of italians as warm and nice people, forget about.
Italians are rude, hate foreigners, they will treat you like shit even if you spend your money in their comuni, they reall yreally really treat anyone who is not born in their province as shit.
Serious, i really wanted to know from where this stereotype about happy and hospitable italians came from, because is a fucking LIE
> EYYYYY IT'S JOEY. I'M BACK JUST LIKE NONNA SAID I'D BE.
> HEY LOUIE...LOUIE, GET ME SOME PRIMA TAGIATELLI WIT THE TOMAYTA SAUCE. AYY, NO SPEAK A THE ENGLISH?? WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM, LOUIE?
New worlders are 9999x more hospitable, nice and open than europeans. From Canada to Argentina.
Europeans hate foreigners and treat everyone that were not born in their regions as shit.
Stay in USA or go to Canada or even Mexico.
These fucking menas have nothing to do with real italians.

Don't you ever dare to reply to me again, macaco
they're albanians you convict piece of trash
You shouldn't speak badly of your allies. Besides, ancient Romans were all 100% illyrian. You may not like the facts, but the truth is Albanian too.
kys
Dont do it or you'll be forced to live among Europeans and their old world bullshit.
Want to live among Italians go move to Argentina.
As long as you have money you'll be fine
It's an Americanism that emerged during WWII to explain away fears regarding Americans of Italian descent serving in the armed forces. By contrast the Japanese were sent to camps and the Americans of German descent came up with elaborate stories of how they were actually Norwegian, Danish, or Swedish so they wouldn't get tarred and feathered like their pappies were in WWI.
>I'm half Italian
>Serious, i really wanted to know from where this stereotype about happy and hospitable italians came from, because is a fucking LIE
Depends
Italians care for the tribe and culture, they are nice to people they feel close to and generally like
>muh heritage
This user is too radical but still he's right, you will never be accepted as italian if you can't speak the language like an italian would.
Also I can't see how you can feel at home here after growing up in the US, we are many worlds apart. If you don't move around family you will feel lonely most of the time.
at least the ones leaving shitaly are nice, every single one I met was chill and easy-going.
>italian if you can't speak the language like an italian would.
This goes for any country I'd imagine. If you speak with a clear accent you're not a local.
New worlders, especially yanks and english speaking canadians, will NEVER be accepted in european countries except for maybe the UK.
Just get it through, you are not italian, you are a disgusting yank, fuck off.
You have a wrong concept of the whole thing. It's the culture that makes you Italian, not the genes. If you haven't lived in Italy already, if you haven't studied or absorbed our history, if you're not familiar with our icons, imagery, emotions, you're not Italian. You can still become one though, but that would require a lifetime.
