I'm from a small-ish city in Ceará called Sobral. I've heard people calling the French arrogant too, but the most common stereotype is definitely the "smelly, don't shower" one. My mom even teases me about the fact that I learn French because of that. My city is a bit francophile now that I think about it. We even have our own knock off version of the Arc de Triomphe, kek. (pic related)
Also, where in France did you go? From what I've heard from French people on the Internet it's only Parisians who are very arrogant.

I don't know whose opinions are represented in this map, but any brazilian living in Portugal experiences extreme racism and/or xenophobia. My mother was born in Portugal but raised here, and she experienced xenophobia from a boss she had while working there. Portuguese are very bitter towards brazilians for some reason
