In other words: English is SVO (subject, then verb, then object) while Korean is SOV.

Word order alone isn't really that big of a deal, I mean, German flirts with SOV and yet most German speakers here guess the word order correctly.

Major problems are concepts not present in one of the languages, that you need to either learn to use or learn to live without. Articles, plural, cases, pronoun dropping, this kind of stuff.

I think its a lot better to say that Korean is near exclusively head-final whereas our languages are sundry, German included.

3. Access of material, a lot of the scientific terms remains in English so it's better to learn English

German being primarily SOV isn't really a meme. It's counter-intuitive because most sentences will have a single verb in the V2, but it's the best way to approach stuff like

SOV/SVO things are not the real matter. What is real matter is the position of related words and phrases. For example "I saw a person who sit on the bench with red hat." is "I with hat on the bench a person saw" in Korean.
