Is 4% GDP to alliance big or not really? We hate NATO to be honest so I want to see what NATO countries think about this.

NATO is basically an arm of the US military used for power projection. The only countries that actually benefit from NATO are along Russia's border.

All Warsaw Pact countries are now in NATO and not in the savage dictatorial eurasian union. I wonder why.

Maybe it's because when you ally yourself with the west, you don't get invaded and have the shit bombed out of you and run over with tanks like a certain union which no longer exists did to us repeatedly.

Hmmm. Really makes me think. Should we pay the highest gas prices in Europe, get invaded from time to time and get treated like subhumans, or pick the winning side and enjoy ever-growing standards of living? Tough choice

4% is daft.

4% is pretty extreme but aside from that its one of the few things hes correct about. It's even funnier when Euro-douchebags claim that we are being hypocritical to criticize the alliance because the only time article 5 was triggered was in response to the September 11th attacks. However the contribution of nato nations (save for the UK which already contributes above 2%) was next to meaningless and purely symbolic. Compare that to the Millions of Americans who were killed or wounded fighting in Europe in both world wars and the unbelievable amount of funding provided by the marhsal plan that basically made many of Europe's wealthy nations what they are today.

Why should US soldiers be expected to fight and die protecting nations that don't even take their own defense seriously. Not that trump would do anything constructive with the money (like help our inner cities or fund an infrastructure bill), but it sucks as an american tax payer to basically pay for mainland Europe's protection while they spend all their tax money on 35 year maternity leave schemes for their unemployed undocumented refugees.

He's right about the energy part at least.
