Can't wait for all the rural retards to lose their jobs lel.
Farmers in Iowa and North Dakota already crying that China won't buy their soy beans anymore.

>As in previous year, the vast majority of foreign investment came from the acquisition of U.S. businesses, which accounted for 97.5 percent of all new foreign investment in 2017.
絶句

that must be fake i thought this was america fox news told me we were winning

This is what rural retards and Dixiefags wanted.

This is brutal.

lol

120 billion isnt 1 percent of US GDP. Its nothing.

imagine being this guy

THANK YOU BASED GOD-EMPEROR TRUMP, MAGA

>Can't wait for all the rural retards to lose their jobs lel.
they'll just blame "the left", "globalist", BLACK/*Ztec people and Europe

>As in previous year, the vast majority of foreign investment came from the acquisition of U.S. businesses, which accounted for 97.5 percent of all new foreign investment in 2017.

explain why this isn't good news

CHINA OWNS YOUR COUNTRY

why cant lefties accept that USA will win this? Its the petrodollar, you idiots, Trump will win. Everyone has to acquire US currency.

You pull out these cooked numbers, half-truths and factoids and go hysterical about them, then immediately forget all about them before they get knocked down and when finally the person you don't like does do what they say they'd achieve you try to brush it off as irrelevant. This is schizophrenia.

And now they don't.

Eh, we should strive for more economic autonomy. The next step should be punishing disloyal companies that occupy our urban areas.

well, not anymore obviously

Just like when Reagan clamped down on Soviet looting of American technology back in days of yore. :^)

But that's literally what "foreign investment" means

>Trump talks to Kim Jong-un
>instead of Trump convincing him to open his country to investment, Kim convinces Trump to follow the Great Juche philosophy of his grandfather, Kim Il-sung
>tfw Trump transforms America into an isolationist, self-sufficient command economy

Attached: trump meets kim.jpg (1200x800, 124K)

>Its the petrodollar, you idiots, Trump will win
This. China is pretty much alone at this, with no allies. Even Putin and his friends will never abandon petrodollar because that is their main source of income, and Russia is literally the only party China can rely on. Armchair economists with their "le blumpf btfo, china stronk" are ridiculous.

The petrodollar depends on having a trade deficit, which leads to a high demand for USD. Guess what Trump wants to eliminate?

based and redpilled

this would be the greatest timeline

>Can't wait for all the rural retards to lose their jobs lel.

their jobs were already gone. thats why they voted trump because he promised to bring them back

Why do Americans keep lying and making comparisons with China and the Soviet Union? The two situations aren't even remotely the same. The Soviet economy was very weak and defective while China's economy is soaring higher every year. The party has also learned from the mistakes made by the CPSU so as to not repeat them.

>lmao drumpf stupid am i right :D:DDD

haha shadilay my based fellow MAGApede you sure BTFO’d those libtard cucks with your epic wojak edit. praise kek

thier mentality might as well be stuck in the 50s/60s when you look at it they really havent moved to modernity, also china's economy isnt strictly as socialist as the USSR was when the latter started stagnating in the 70s and 80s china had deng xiaoping drawing up his socialism with chinese characteristics which still continues to play a part in china's growth today

The jig is up, Wu. If China has so much as 5% unemployment, that's more than 150 million people which could cause a catastrophic situation for the CCP.

wtf I love Kim now?

Um sweetie, Jow Forums is a Jow Forums board.

>implying America needs foreign investment

We will export enough salt from the libcuck tears to increase the GDP by at least 5% per year until 2024. MAGA!!

when you screw a libtard.. EPIC STYLE

Acquisitions by foreign entities are a form of foreign investment but are not the sole definition of foreign investment. You didn't even have to stay awake during your business 101 class to know this; this is understood by just reading the article. But, to be fair, I don't know why I expect Europeans to understand anything financial when your banks mostly thrived nowadays through manipulation of the LIBOR.

China does however need our stolen technology to live.

No they're pretty pissed off at Trump

Goodbye, Huawei. Once you can't pilfer phone technology anymore...

>Farmers in Iowa and North Dakota already crying that China won't buy their soy beans anymore.

Time to increase domestic consumption.

What was his problem in the first place? US unemployment was on record low and had been going down

zte, huwaii, xia whatever. get all that chink crap out of here. no more

this is just like brexit, everyone who voted for it expected a downturn

He was elected to renegotiate trade deals that would help stimulate rural economies, he just straight up canceled them because he doesn't want to actually try

>literally have to become a soyboy to be a patriotic american
it didn't have to be like this

Yeahyeah, back in the day they wanted to sell the Soviets grain too. You ever heard of Roswell Garst? And then Nixon sold them a ton of grain so they wouldn't starve from their failed agriculture at the consequence of Americans suffering high food prices.

based

and

REDpilled

Didn't China get rid of collectivized agriculture in the 80s?

Chinkphones are already banned in the US anyway. Or at least banned for government agencies. Not sure which exactly.

9001D Chess right?

#WINNING

Nah. It's infinite-dimensional chess now. The game has resulted in new research on linear algebra.

Most farming since the 80s is privatized but they still rely heavily on food imports to feed their huge population especially because the amount of people employed in agriculture has dropped way off and a lot of land has been lost to pollution or industrialization.

The light of Juche dawns on the Red-land.

Thanks Obama

because foreign capital gives american companies the money they need to be highly competitive? that money now goes to american competitors?

Not when it's Chinese theft buying up American property it's not.

t. gordon gekko

Which countries are actually self-sufficient in terms of their food supply? Pretty sure America is, but what about the rest of the world?

Attached: 1528848145617.jpg (1440x810, 121K)

that doesn't even make any sense though. how is it theft if they PAID FOR IT?

this. people don't realize china has been engaging in trade warfare with the US for decades now, we've just been letting it slide. they're not a friendly cunt, it's time to stop treating them as if they were

Slight exaggeration to make a point, but all the same. They buy it, the money goes to prop up their brutal organ harvesting dictatorship.

that still doesn't fucking make any sense what it props up. the fact is that money makes american companies highly competitive because it gives them capital to research, market, develop and compete against other american companies and non-american companies. it says foreign investment, not Chinese investment alone. like i said, OP asked why is it bad, and i stated the obvious. that money now goes to other countries who might be in direct competition with america companies. and money is a good thing for companies.

China doesn't own itself.

well they certainly own "more" of themselves than any other country does

Well, no. The CCP does and just uses China and its people as slaves so they can buy new vacation homes in the south of France.

What's difference in the end?

:D

If you, as a Finnish entity, buy a corporate bond from Tesla, then that's not an acquisition, but it's still a foreign investment.

Posters such as would make more sense if most foreign investment wasn't buying up companies. I'm not saying he's entirely wrong, but he seems to be ignoring the fact that businesses can not simply merge their way into success or further success. GE is a great example that you ought to know.

Why do I respond seriously to low-effort bait...

But they are willing to take the risk leaving more money in circulation.

Or creating demand for dollars.

i did not imply they can 'merge' their way to success. i'm stating as a matter of fact having 'money' is better then not having 'money'

two companies in direct competition, all things being equal, the one with a bigger bankroll has an obvious advantage over one that does not.

China is a fucking dictatorship, they don't play fairly or by the rules of international trade. People need to grasp this fact.

from the article:
>Only $6.4 billion of the overall investment was aimed at establishing new U.S. businesses or expanding foreign-owned U.S. business.
this is the kind of investment a cunt wants. creates jobs. hostile takeovers reduces competition and cuts costs by shaving local jobs while owning the IP

Why is this thread about China when the article mentions the biggest foreign investors in the US are Canada, the UK, Japan and France?

That would mean tax cuts for the rich don't actually create jobs.

s h o c k e r

You could say this about any acquisition, even if it makes zero sense. Take a look at Microsoft's acquisition of GitHub. Where's the synergy in that?

>i'm stating as a matter of fact having 'money' is better then not having 'money'
>two companies in direct competition, all things being equal, the one with a bigger bankroll has an obvious advantage over one that does not
That's where I agree with you, but unfortunately, not all other variables are constant, so there could be times where acquisitions are made simply for spreading out risk rather than making more money, thus resulting in the creation of a conglomerate and not necessarily a more competitive company.

>they don't play fairly or by the rules of international trade
Why doesn't the US take this to the WTO then? Japan, for instance, made a case against South Korea for discrimination when they were blocking imports of fish from areas near Fukushima. If that got settled, then why can't these alleged violations of trade rules be settled?

they're just buying american businesses

>Why doesn't the US take this to the WTO then?

>did not read the first part of the post

>China is a fucking dictatorship.
>Therefore, we can't challenge them.
With that logic, why are we challenging them with tariffs? Your post makes no sense.

Still I wouldn't say there's a difference between buying an established company or setting up shop. Acquisitions have huge premiums.

The WTO is a globalist pro-China organization, dude.

anything for short-term profits. communist china good. capitalist usa bad

>pro-China
So how the fuck did Japan win against South Korea? Is China suddenly pro-Japanese now?

Why is new Jow Forums full of news articles about America all time. You know that this isn't Jow Forums related. I miss old Jow Forums

because drumpf lives in their heads rent free

It could be worse. There's that one Australian guy who finds some obscure American behavior/cultural practice and then proceeds to beat Jow Forums over the head with it for weeks.

I think there can be a really big difference in circumstance, but yeah you're not wrong

Nothing else interesting is happening besides the US having an autistic fit

It's fake, right?
