Which is the most interesting Slavic country? I want to learn a Slavic language and I'm looking for the Slavic country with the most interesting culture.

Russian will be the most efficient choice, because it's the most spoken slavic language.
>most interesting culture
They don't differ all that much

Really? So, what things do Slavic cultures have in common?

>Upper Sorbian in the South
>Lower Sorbian in the North
I’m sure there is a logical explanation, but do any anons know what it is?

Maybe, Poland.

Most likely it's due to the direction of the major river going through the area.

Up the river
Down the river

Folklore, art, mentality. Of course they differ from each other, but on a global scale they can be put in like three categories of cultures that share a lot of stuff.

Mentality really is shared between our nations. Folklore unfortunately not, or at least not anymore, since we killed off all our Slavic pagan beliefs and destroyed records of that time.

What is the mentality of a Slavic person?
>Folklore, art, mentality
What about literature? Of course Russia dominates classic literature, but what about modern literature?

>Russian is the most common but is extremely hard; And I've never met a foreigner who speaks fluent Russian
>Polish language popularity is growing together with it's economy growth
>Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian are really noice if you want to find frens to drink beer together
>Ukrainian if you are hipster

>American education

>like dude, when you don’t know something why would you politely ask about it? AMERICAN EDUCATION LOL
I don’t think your doing it right.

This is Jow Forums, the place where people will stomp you into the ground just so they can feel better about themselves and their own pathetic lives. Why that still surprises you is beyond me.

Yeah, by folklore I really meant pagan myths, everything past that point is local stuff that coexisted with christianity mostly.
>What is the mentality of a Slavic person?
Hard to describe, so I'll just say it's dashcam videos, lol
>what about modern literature?
I'm not really up to date with modern literature, but I'm sure that western slavs have noteworthy writers nowadays. In Russia there are breddy gud modern writers like Pelevin as well.

>Of course Russia dominates classic literature, but what about modern literature?
Russia gave birth to Glukhovsky, the author of the Metro 2033 series. Poland to Sapkowski, the author of the The Witcher series. Both of them are fairly popular both in their own countries and abroad. There are a bunch of others like Lem, Ashushkin, and so on, but they aren't as famous nowadays as these two are.

>dashcam videos
Distrust for strangers, need for 100% certainty, fear for the worst possible scenarios, pessimism, will disrespect the law if no one is watching?

Maybe bacause the answer to your question is fuckin obvious? Nothing wrong with asking but you could at least try and use your own brain before doing that.

>Ukrainian
No such thing.

That, plus jackass-tier drunk stunts

>Distrust for strangers, need for 100% certainty, fear for the worst possible scenarios, pessimism, will disrespect the law if no one is watching?

Tbqh, it's even worse currently in Russia and Ukraine

>What is the mentality of a Slavic person?

Honestly, no such thing. It's serbo-croatian.

I'd mention Strugatsky brothers, Pelevin and early Lukyanenko.

I think its hard to compare cultures. What about language...
If you want the most useful one, learn russian.
If you want the most melodic one, look at ukrainian or belarussian.

Idiot, have you ever heard of upper and lower Egypt? Upper doesn't always mean North and lower doesn't always mean south
