not for people like me
No, not at all and anyone saying it's the same is a liar. There is one trope that is correct though, and that's the football jock with the hot gf. But I'm sure that's true for every high school athlete everywhere
I never went to high school
No. It's not bad tho, I had a calm high school life and like 4-6 real friends
My school wasn't too big, but cliques sort of existed. Everyone in my class knew each other and got along fairly well though. Graduating class was 137 people and the school had around 700 I think.
what happened?
>700
>wasnt too big
My high school had like 200
I mean compared to what you see on tv/movies. City schools have like 2000 kids.
every single young person acts and speaks like a nigger, it's pretty sad
I rather ride my dirt bike and smoke than go to school
I am so glad I wasn't born in a country with the prom.
I could never ask a girl out when i was a teenager.
what is like being part of the popular kids' club?
Lol my public high school had 2900 students. It was big and amazing tho and had shitton of classes and things to do.
My school had way more grills than boys
Mine had 40-50 students in a class and there were 8-10 classes for each grade.
Our highschool was for 3 years so....do the maths. I hated it there.
If you're in a major city, kind of
If you're not, no
Yeah it kinda of is. But it's shit compared to University
>duuude if i don't loose my virginity to jessie andrews before reno this year im toast
>electric guitar music plays
>looks 29 at 16
Some muttanon once told me that jocks are usually friendly and kind and the bully is a typical outcast. Nothing alike what you see in those movies
you don't have a highschool diploma?
Nyc top public schools don't have any of those meme clichés.
>some kids bully other kids brutally
>no one does nothing
is this real? muslim tier
What about stacies and chads, nerds who always eat alone and are intolerant to gluten, football players who only date hot cheerleaders, drama queens who bully the nerds and post on twitter and fb 24/7, carefully collecting portfolios and receiving invitations from colleges, buying extremely expensive suits and dresses for proms and homecomings?
Is it true that you have "meat-free tuesdays" and everyone can pick their favourite sport and practice it all year round on PE classes?
I could never ask one single girl out even if girls outnumbers boys. girls are for other boys.
>Is american high school life like in those movies?
Only for the top ten percent or so of the social strata. The bottom 10% had a miserable time, and the middle 80% had a mundane, forgettable experience.
yes. everyone hangs out with people they're like. jocks get tons of teen pussy and football is huge. school are big, some hs have lockers. mine didn't we just took our backpack everywhere. there is pep rallies, prom, etc etc.
instead of turn up alone in a car like you're supposed to i just got dropped off down the road and walked in the side. Crisis averted lad
Bullying wasn't really a thing in my high school. Kids were dicks to each other in elementary and middle school, but no one ever got physically bullied. I'm sure if someone tried to do that shit everyone would put a stop to it real quick.
is that from a film? who was jessie andrews?
Not him but in america you unironically can take these exams called ged and an equivalent of a high school diploma without spending 1 hour in high school.
Bullies are actually disliked in real life high school
All of that is wrong except the football player and cheerleaders, and the picking your sport part.
youtube.com
yes, it's cringe-tastic. with the occasional school shooting
>What about stacies and chads
Yes
>nerds who always eat alone and are intolerant to gluten
nerds eat with other nerds
> football players who only date hot cheerleaders
Yes (mostly)
> drama queens who bully the nerds and post on twitter and fb 24/7
only one who "bullies" nerds are other nerds. drama queens are to busy bullying each other.
>carefully collecting portfolios and receiving invitations from colleges
Yes
> buying extremely expensive suits and dresses for proms and homecomings?
Yes
>Is it true that you have "meat-free tuesdays" and everyone can pick their favourite sport and practice it all year round on PE classes?
No
do you really eat in a dedicated cafeteria with only a few tables to single out non-popular people?
does doing well in sport accually make you popular?
Who the fuck gets invitations from college. You apply to universities
>Crisis averted
really? doesn't that make you feel like a loser every time you remember it?
scholarships i thought he meant, occasionally colleges would come and persuade the athletes to go to their college
good lord. I'm sure this is the same everywhere, even in Finland or Russia. They just seem to lack social or surroundings awareness
What's high school in Russia like?
You have cliques?
We have
Jocks
Nerds
Drama Queens
Wannabe thugs
Sluts
FOB Immigrants/Exchange students
Losers/Druggies
yes. yes. especially football players
Who /jock/ here? I was and now a fat neet
I wonder where did it all go wrong
>ged
we have a similar system too.
but its offered only twice a year and it's hard to pass everything on one take.
it seems easier to just join an online highschool and spend 3 years learning almost nothing.
>Who the fuck gets invitations from college
A lot of people? Anyone who has a good GPA and does extracurriculars gets begged to attend their college. If you have brown skin or a vagina you can even get Ivy leagues begging for you to come.
no, nobody even noticed except my friends who i told anyway. The night was mediocre as shit anyway until the after party, glad i didn't put more money into it hiring a car.
>nobody even noticed
I'm so sad for you.
I wasn't one and am a fat neet
at least you was a jock once
Lol those guys still send their applications. They don't get invited and alot of them get rejected because ivy league don't accept alot of students.
Total opposite for me. I was so shy in school I'd skip class because I couldn't talk to people. Now I'm a fit normie
theres 200 people going through nobody's looking through all of them or the pictures and going wait a minute user wasn't there but he turned up later
and i avoid looking like a fuckwit which turns up alone because you don't really stick with who you go with afterwards anyway
Kind of
t. normal experience where I went to a few house parties, smoked weed under the bleachers, and went to prom
Jocks are based
A jock introduced me to my first gf at a party
I dont think real HS kids are all 35 like actors in those movies are
I think we only had two groups when i was in high school. The first one is "normies" (who socialise often, go to parties, school trips and so on) and the second one consisted of social outcasts who never got invited to any parties and were ignored, sometimes girls refused to share a desk with people from the second group. It was the funniest part of the school year, when everyone had to pick a pair because most schools here don't have individual desks.
There's some truth to this, jocks are usually happy-go-lucky and why wouldn't they be? The "jocks beating up nerds" trope is almost total fiction ime, usually any violence between schoolmates is derelict-on-derelict violence
>But I'm sure that's true for every high school athlete everywhere
My highschool wasn't co-ed
If my highschool debutante was like that, i would try to forget it as quickly as possible.
Yeah brah, I used to shove nerds into their lockers and take the virginity of the cute nerdy girls they would try to talk to once a week. #88 GO WOLVES
>What about stacies and chads
Yep
>nerds who always eat alone and are intolerant to gluten
Yes, sometimes they eat alone but often they eat with other nerds
> football players who only date hot cheerleaders
Yes although not every football player does this (football teams are huge)
> drama queens who bully the nerds and post on twitter and fb 24/7
Social media is before my time, bullying in general is kind of a meme though, strangers don't just assault/harass you for no reason (exception would be a white kid in a majority black school maybe)
>carefully collecting portfolios and receiving invitations from colleges
Yep
> buying extremely expensive suits and dresses for proms and homecomings?
Usually you rent them
>Is it true that you have "meat-free tuesdays"
Don't even know what this means
>and everyone can pick their favourite sport and practice it all year round on PE classes?
Not really, some people do play certain sports year round but usually only if they are very good at them and year round competition is done outside of school, you still have to participate in PE while in school
Oh, forgot one group: the mass shooters
you don't have those even though our shooters are all from your second group
Wait, you have to share a desk with someone the whole time in HS? fuck
Here we would chimpout if we had to share lockers let alone desks
it's not even like how it is in the movies for chads
surprisingly meangirls wasn't too far off however
