Why aren't they the same country?

Why aren't they the same country?

>Cuba
Communism
>Venezuela
Communism
>Puerto Rico
‘murica
>Everyone else
Hate each other

Nobody wants to be around Colombians and I don't blame them, I don't want to too.

>Ecuador and Venezuela
Centralism caused a lot of confrontations that caused Ecuador and Venezuela secede.
> Panama
Panama was lobbied by the USA to secede in order to build the Canal
> DR and PR
They showed intention of interest to eventually join us but never came to realization
> Jamaica, Cuba and haiti
Played a huge role in our independency history but nothing past that
> Costa Rica
Besides our unexplainable similarities, they were never part of us, except for its eastern shore
> Nicaragua
Same as CR. They do share a couple of things in common with us but personally I see it as a transition zone between Colombia and Mexico, although their accent sounds similar to Venezuela's for some reason
> Bahamas
Nothing in common in our history besides that of Caribbean pirates

They all are

> Communism in the XVIII century

You'd be surprised how different we are form each other

Criollos wanted power for their own
Too late to amend

> Played a huge role in our independency history but nothing past that
Cuba also expressed their intention to join our union but it never came to fruition

This

finally someone who doesn't fall for the shithole cone meme

Which would be their capital right now, Panama City?

It was always Bogota. Panama is a city of 2 million people. We have 10 million over here

But Panama City is more centralized.

Yeah you are probably right. That's the kind of issue that led to our secession haha

why the fuck would all those caribbean and central american nations be annexed to colombia? only panama

Why do Chile and Argentina "hate"each other? Are they so different?
Genuinely curious.

Why doesn't mexico and colombia annex central America?

Isn't Ecuador more similar to Peru?

Central Americans are protestant

Argies think that chileans betrayed them in the falklands war.

Mexico doesn't need more poverty to sustain.

How so? Also, is there a wide gap between their economical condition? l mean if one country is way richer than the other.

>chadlombia

Argentina's economy is absolute trash, high inflation and currency tanked so hard.
They literally drive over to Chile to buy electronics and other items because they're overpriced in their country.

I've always been interested in South America countries. Are there other country in South America that hate/dislike each other for historical reasons?

The only non-meme answer is that Bolivians hate Chile. Everything else is just banter. Even the Peru vs Chile rivalry is a meme.

Why does Bolivia hate Chile? Do they have unresolved issues about their borders?

Because Chile took their sea.

cucked Bolivia from sea access, just like Veracruz did with Puebla

Who cares. It's rightful clay

We could fix venezuela and cuba in a heartbeat

Why should the Antilles be part of Coulombia? DR PR and Cuba we can have our own Antillean Federation

Those are not countries, just regions that share a similar culture

Wouldn't mind the rebirth of Gran Colombia with Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, and Ecuador, but only on the condition that they are a US ally and Cuba doesn't join.

Yes, but Perú took our clay
Plus Gran Colombia was still a thing

Ecuador and peru, you should look what was my country like before we lost more than the triple of our current territory.

That's interesting, how much territory did the peruANOs take?

nice

Tensions regarding Patagonia
Then tensions regarding the Falklands war

I don't know about you user, but I think that this "hate" is also a meme, like, at least in here no one cares about the wars that we had against Ecuador. Only boomers "care" about this.

Basado y pildorarrojado.

fuggg :DD
Well, our territorial conflict was one of the longest one in history (if not the longest). it's crazy that no one cares right now.
Give our lands back tho

There is the Brazilian-argentinian rivalry caused by some wars in the past and, of course, football

Historically its to due with colonist settlements ie theres a variety of british and spanish colonies in your pic. I guess the reason why nations like Venezuela and Colombia didnt combine is due to the original settlement positions and the lack of trading between their settlements compared to each nations settlements trading between themselves

Then between the 19-20th Century you had America taking over panama from Colombia to dominate trade. Then there was the cold war which cemented the national borders with various politics

And now I suppose its more of a question of why would they even bother. The borders are agreed on all sides. It'll be like us asking Ireland to rejoin to make us stronger. Yeah we're culturally the same at this point but who cares enough, life is already good enough and we like waving our own flags about. Also a few of those nations like Bahamas are tax havens and would like to be under Venezuelan rule

wouldnt like to be under*

>it's crazy that no one cares right now.
Yeah, I think the same. Like, in Peru you only get a brief moment of explanation about the Cenepa War in your late years of secondary, it is very unlikely to learn about the war that we had in 1941 in school, and is very probable that you won't get to learn about all the stuff that happened before these two wars. Either you are properly taught about this in college or you learn about it on your own if you wanna know more than only little snippets.

>Give our lands back tho
Help us to deal with the FARCs and we'll talk about it.

Why can't brazil speak spanish like everyone else

Cuba are communists
Venezuela are poor socialists
Colombia got war problems
Ecuador pretty neutral
Panama doesn’t want us

What about Haiti?

Should be genocided.

cute af

>Panama was lobbied by the USA to secede in order to build the Canal

More like a direct threat to invasion.

What really?
From what I have read: The Americans told the Conjurados that if they declared independence from Colombia the US would back up the new country. The conjurados had their own reasons to want to declare independence but they would not have been able to without the US backing them.

Hey, we only hate Nicaraguans

Why tho

mm, no. their stability is recent

They are generally rude, loud and badly mannered. They constitute the biggest migrant sector of the country too

Interesting, I thought Nicaraguans were cool lads aside the fact that they are commies

Well, you have to consider the fact the people who come here are generally poor and barely educated, so that's the stereotype we get. Personally, I don't hate them, I just don't like them that much

Really want to visit Medellin and the region around it.

Attached: Paisaregion.jpg (199x263, 7K)

I'd really like to visit the far East, Amazon and Pacific regions. Never been there
t. Andesfag

Cual ciudad?

Tunja

Me gusta la bandera y el escudo. Como esta el crimen ahi? Como esta el tursimo?

Thats actually really interesting. I learned something today.

Quiero vistar Colombia mucho. Hope my Spanish was okay too.

It was very decent. I actually thought you were a native spanish speaker

Gracias amigo.

>PR
>They showed intention of interest to eventually join us but never came to realization

In every single status consultation that has ever been conducted in Puerto Rico, independence from the US doesn't even get 5% of the votes. The majority wants to either maintain the current political status (commonwealth) or become the 51st state.

That was 200 years ago before we controlled PR.

not him but you are right, however that's something from the XVII or XVIII centuries, way before PR was even a US territory

That's just because the feds suppressed the whole nationalist/independence movement between the 1940s and the 1970s so much that only people left supporting it are old people and people that like venezuela or cuba a bit.

I voted on the last one (2017), there have been like 5 consultations since the early 1900's.

Muh oppression. No seas mamabicho.

>Muh oppression. No seas mamabicho.
I said suppression you salty cunt. I don't support independence at all, yet you can't deny it wasn't done, even though it was done in part because our nationalists were staging and carrying out presidential assassinations and attacks on US government officials.

>I don't support independence at all

Denial, that's bad for your health.

>in part because our nationalists were staging and carrying out presidential assassinations and attacks on US government officials

Although the "presidential assassinations" part is bs the FBI suppressed the group exactly for the attacks on NY and congress members and their movements on the island. They were nothing but terrorists that killed innocents. The local extreme right wing politicians were the ones doing the suppression in the island. But it doesn't take people's right to vote. Nationalists were always a small minority. If PR really wanted to become independent, the consultations would've reflected it.
