All sides in ww2 are overrated and made an immense amount of mistakes. Rommel has more fame than Patton, probably because Patton ended up having disagrements with the leadership and died in mysterious circumstances.

That's a bit rich. Patton's reputation amongst Americans mostly comes from "what ifs" about his army being in an even more lavish state of oversupply than it already was. Say what you want about Rommel but he wouldn't've had to shoot both feet off to fail.
