Because america became very powerful during the two world wars and the URSS collapsed
American (film and video games) and to a lesser extent British (tv, music) cultural exports.
You think there is the better language ?
дa
it's 99% american reason
For example ?
Dutch
obviously
日本語
it's easy so it can spread easily
you're welcome
colony all over the world. they force to speak english to slave
its a english or Die
there is nothing superior as a language
Is because the US, before the 80 French was still the lingua franca
Overwhelming American dominance during XX century
Britain spread it around the world with the empire, and Britain's former colonies helped spread it through Europe with mass-media and American commercialism.
99% England meddling in China, India and all over the world. It wouldn't be as far spread just from America alone without the empire
Please tell me about the influence of the British Empire in the 1980s, must have been very significant since everyone decided to learn your language.
Or is it maybe just because you happen to use the language of the one only world superpower?
The reason more people speak English in India than the US is because of the empire. Same reason Australia, Canada and many African countries speak it too such as Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana, adding up to more than English speakers than the US again. Just you and ameriweebs starting learn it from the simpsons and American TV doesn't make it the reason it is the most spread
The Anglosphere itself speaks English because of Britain, and much of our former colonial territory speaks English because of Britain. I don't give a fuck if a bunch of you second-world rejects picked up English because of Reagan. English as a language didn't suddenly pop into existence or become prevalent in the 1980's.
There would be no English language if it wasn't for Britain and it wouldn't have spread so widely across the world if it wasn't for the largest empire in history's expansion over a span of several centuries.
but no lmao everyone speaks english only because of seinfeld and mcdonalds nothing to do with england itself lol
Combination of American industry post-WW2, the English empire and all of its offshoots (Canada, Australia, etc.), and good old fashioned murder
British media doesn't factor into it at all.
cause we are the best
The British empire does
>British media doesn't factor into it at all.
the BBC is literally the world's most popular series of channels, or whatever a better name would be. Broadcaster, whatever. BBC news in particular.
British BBC broadcasts during the war have been linked to the attribution of English language being a compulsory subject in the Netherlands while Belgium and France has heavy lobbying towards there government citing that the Anglo media outlet has an important part of French/Belgium history
Asia is all the yanks and a clear example of just how much of a watered down Anglo they is the Japanese English skills
>Asia is all the yanks
Y'know, except the two largest Asian countries.
You can't exactly compare India (UK) to the Philippines (US)
>Asia is all the yanks
you can't be this stupid
They fucking teach American English in every Asian country but China
India is its own autistic thing
French was the lingua franca during the British "empire"
>The reason more people speak English in India than the US is because of the empire
nope.
Indonesia and the Philippines aren't the whole of asia. They're tiny compared to India, Bangladesh and Pakistan too
>British BBC
sorry but i dont watch pedophile networks..
during the Napoleonic eras yeah maybe, after that it was killed off
british empire +Anglosphere culture and media
based and redpilled
Almost as if the lingu Franca doesn’t mean the most spoken language but the language of business and politics
Almost as if democracy didn’t exist in Europe at the time and that only the well educated elite needed to speak said language
Almost as if you are a brown Latin American that has no understand of Europe
>after that it was killed off
french was ligua france until ww2 when amercans took europe as a colony.
I wonder how brits here feel about american english. Me i watch british documentaries and youtuber's with british and/or RP derived accents(Australia/NZ) so it doesnt bother me. But i have read from brits about how they keep getting a aneurysm if they hear american/canadian accents.
fpbp
>I wonder how brits here feel about american english.
It's dominance is because it's the largest native language of the first world.
because it's piss easy to learn
can you imagine there's some untermenschen who only speak ONE language?
>the British "empire"
>scare quotes
Are you retarded or just baiting? Literally the single largest empire in the history of mankind versus this
Because your stadtholder decided to move to England where he would be treated as a real king. A lot of the Dutch banks moved with him and started to finance what would become the Industrial Revolution, the biggest thing since agriculture. The Dutch Republic was left to rot.
Because we spell shit awesome such that there akshual magic.
Wait till your nekst mindfukc
But that's blatantly true, you germ retard.
Why do you feel the need to post about things you're completely clueless about?
Because the only relevant powers since the industrial revolution spoke it.
German is the most logical language in the world. The easiest grammar to learn too.
Dominant language because of American cultural power. Without that it would be at the level of other languages of imperial European powers like Portugese/French/German I guess.
