In the Trans-Baikal Territory near the village of Chara there is a real desert. It's a sea of sand, just surrounded by a desert rocky mountains with snow-capped peaks.
Here there is no vegetation, only thorns, sands move, so dunes are constantly in different places, which in principle prevents germination of plants here, as well as the formation of drifts. In the tract itself it is quite cold, the temperature is so low that here and there frosts are formed. Here you can not meet camels, but the herd of deer is an ordinary sight.
