Actually, it belongs to the Central Slavic group

Polish is just impossible to understand.

They've stick with their archaic phonology.

where did you get this?

Avtorsko delo :^)

kotiti - to give birth (used only for animals)
kot - an animal wich gives birth to a lot of offspring
kot --->cat, kat...

Attached: 1532016666171.png (1235x721, 404K)

south slavic is just a mix of east and west slavic dbi

i could swear that the slovenian word was also planina in some version of this map?

Attached: Mjc2b38.png (1280x700, 529K)

Planina is a mountain grassland used for pasture, it does absolutely not have the same meaning as gora.

>berg
any corelation with slavic breg?

We are, tbqh

Attached: 12382883.jpg (200x142, 6K)

Ja
fran.si/193/marko-snoj-slovenski-etimoloski-slovar/4285251/brg?FilteredDictionaryIds=193&View=1&Query=breg

of course, the germs claim that we borrowed it from them

>kotiti - to give birth (used only for animals)
In Russian, oкoтитьcя/okotit'sja used only for cats, for dogs it's oщeнитьcя/oščenit'sja (щeнoк/ščenok = puppy), for cows it's oтeлитьcя/otelit'sja (тeлeнoк/telenok = calf) and etc

sad that I wouldnt know this if I didnt start studying it on my own. in school they would always say a word originated from german/latin rather than being original slavic or not talk about it at all.

I miss KC, brends...

>Barg
wtf based sląnsk

nowadays we use planina as the main word for mountain and gora as the poetic one. and in old folk songs gora or gorica could mean forest, too (like in bulgarian)

planina exists only in south slavic languages. our dictionary claims that it comes from "polnina" beacuse a mountain is "full of treasues" or something like that, but that seems wrong to me

Gorica is hilly terrain, usually associated with vineyards in Slovene (as well as the name of quite a few places).

Ja

>In Russian, oкoтитьcя/okotit'sja used only for cats
hmm, that makes it look like okotiti comes from kot and not the other way around.
however, we have this very old school insult "pasji skot"- dog's offspring (or son of a bitch)

now that i think a little bit, it's possible that we use "okotiti" for cats, and "kotiti" for other animals, but i'm not sure.

i have no idea waht's that about, maybe some polish user can explain...

we call only this type of cookies "piškote"

Attached: piskote.jpg (1300x731, 429K)

so if berg is slavic then Nurnberg could actually be Norabreg or Norin breg?

you miss what?

Mislim, da nisi dobro razumel . Breg in Berg imata isto praindoevropsko etimološko podlago

it was "berg" in proto slavic too. but groups like er, ar, el, al became unnatural to slavs at one point. so it became "bereg" in east slavic and "breg" in other groups.

also it seems that among slavs it meant "a high coast" more than hill or mountain

well i'm not sure about nurnberg, but you have to know that the ending -au in german place names almost always comes from -ov, -itz is -ić, -en comes from the nominative masculine ending for adjectives -an or -en (Rugen - Rujan), -zig is actually -sk (Lepzig - Lipsk or Lipsko)...

My takože imamo slovo «skot», ale ono znači «cattle». V slovniku pišut, že prišlo od germanskogo skatts/skatt i izprvo značilo cělo vlastničestvo (property), a ne samo životinu.
>pasji skot
>pasje vlastničestvo
Čto ima pes? Samo potomstvo.

>itz
In Austria, those usually come from Slovene names ending with -ica
>Lipnica - Leibnitz
>Breznica - Frießnitz
>Brnca - Fürnitz
>Dobajnica . Dobeinitz

>>pasje vlastničestvo

fuck movies, read ancients slavic epics and folk tales

I dont wanna sound like a conspiracy theorist but Ive been reading about toponyms from Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Germany being Slavic. The Norabreg idea was actually from a novel called Jantarska pot. Im not saying it's true but I think it's worth considering.
I have a couple more
Oderzo - Opitergium - Obtržje
Trieste - Tergeste - Trg (Trst)
Postoima near Treviso - Postojna
Pola - Polja
Padova - Patavium - Potovje
Premeno - Premena (change of wood)
river Derotchia - Deroča
Grisch - Griža
In Liechtenstein there's a hill Gritsch - Grič and a mountain Gora.

WTF WE SHOULD BEAT ALL SHIT OUT OF THEM NOW

Attached: 20100618143950814.jpg (450x342, 32K)

Trg is also one of these ancinet Slavic-Germanic words. Even Scandinavians say Torg.

As for northern Italy, the Veneti tribe might have actually been an proto-balto-slavic tribe

OK The movie is actually called "13th warrior"

Here is one scene. 3:13 literally makes me mad

Attached: ancient slav artefact.jpg (620x328, 28K)

oh that movie? weren't they actually fighting a surviving stone age tribe in scandinavia and not slavs?

i mean, we were knyaz's n shiet, not some cave dwellers...

Attached: 1438979877481.jpg (900x672, 228K)

scandinavians also say holm, same in Slovenian

What a vulgar music. Do Poles really listen that?
