I bought a daypass at the Kruidvat. Planning on going to Amsterdam. I plan on visiting the Rijksmuseum. Do you have any suggestions?

I studied in Amsterdam so I can tell you a lot about it. The most popular red light district (de wallen) starts around De Oude Kerk (around it you only have black women though). It's only alive at night though. The nightlife areas are around Rembrandsplein and Leidscheplein.

The best canal pics can be taken behind Rembrandtplein at the opera house, at the Blauwbrug (blue bridge) and Magere Brug (skinny bridge).

The Van Gogh and Anne Frank museum are a complete waste of time. The nautical museum can be pretty fun, but the Rijksmuseum is clearly the best.

It's also pretty fun to go Utrecht and do some watercycling and eat some pancakes down at the canals.

The shopping area goes from De Dam (Dam Square), which is the city center > Kalverstraat > Spui > Koningsplein > Leidsche straat > Leidsche Plein > PC Hoofdstraat (expensive).

And then you arrive at Museum Square where the Rembrandt museum is.
But it's easier to just take the tram.

Might as well walk the full way if I'm there for a day. Would it be worth it to go to any nearby places? Haarlem or something.

From Amsterdam literally takes 20 minutes by train to go to Utrecht.

De Zaanse Schans is also in the area of Amsterdam.

Also, if you're going to be a tourist you might as well check out all touristic sights. Kinderdijk, Madurodam, the different fortress cities, maybe even the castles and bunkers along the waterlines of Amsterdam, etc.

Friesland is based af since I live there. Take a course in windsurfing or kitesurfing(if close to sea). You can also rent a boat and go sailing with friends. Also Sneekweek is soon. You can also gp to the islands.

I'm thinking of going to Ameland with my bike for a day. I didn't know about Sneekweek but it looks like something I ought to check out. Leeuwarden is also nice because of the Cultural Capital 2018 thing. I've already been to Groningen on the train. Beautiful city.
