Holland has been a trade nation for many hundreds years now. To be a successful trade nation it is important to be able to talk to the people you want to trade with. Therefore learning languages is ingrained into your culture. It is obvious important to learn languages for you to a level which none of the bigger countries ever reach.

No it doesn't, the EF EPI ranking is based on online tests on their website that people voluntary take, they are not representative of the general population at all, and they don't apply any weights, they have huge methodological flaws and their results shouldn't be taken seriously

I cannot understand why we're so fucked. Pajeets and arabs whose languages are way far from English (and are barely human if you want my honest opinion) are 100 times better than any R*ssian poster. East Asian languages are the most difficult for English speakers. The opposite is also.
Especially, since Korean and Japanese are spoken in subject-object-verb order, western languages feel awkward.

Just wondering, is it really worth it taking the IELTS exam? Noticed that if I were to ever work abroad it might be handy to have, but it's fucking costly to take, and I'd have to travel to another city to boot.
