I’m positive I won’t live to see the day of the opening of the new Berlin airport, the absolute pathetic shitshow that has been going on for over a decade already.

FFS it took them even a decade and billions to build a fucking opera house in Hamburg. A single building.
Not to mention the never ending construction of Stuttgart’s new train station.
Or that long overdue high speed rail line from Munich to Berlin which still shares the majority of the track with regular trains, thus capping the proposed high speed connection to a laughable amount and to top it all off it even had delays and hiccups on it’s grand opening day when even the chancellor came by for the maiden ride in a big media spectacle.

The time it took to build that one 10km metro line in Amsterdam, China has basically went from 0 to the world’s largest and most sophisticated high speed rail country with incredible speeds, safety and comfort. Not to mention the hundreds of km of metro lines built during the same time.

The metro line went under old buildings and (surprise suprise) fucked them up. This metro line shouldn't be builded anyway. This was another fucking babyboom project. Thank God boomers are dying out.

London's Crossrail (biggest construction project in Europe) has been done pretty quickly, as has the new super sewer. This is London though so shit gets done quicker.

I was living in Amsterdam when they started building it.

It was amazing to see it develop over the years as well, deep underneath the city they've essentially dug out another city.
