The games are insanely good. The prequel novel is ok, some of the fanfic novels are shit and the canon anime range from rushed to mediocre to ok. Once you play the games you'll want to know more about the universe so you'll have to be prepared to swim in the sea of mediocrity that's anything but the games.
Is it at your own pace dialog confirmation or full normal talking speed My listening is ehh tier
Jonathan Flores
It's a mystery game with lots of discussion. There's everyday life and the "gameplay" part. In everyday life you read at your own pace and most of the lines are not voice or are simple confirmation responses. In the "gameplay" part it's fully voiced, normal talking speed where you have to really focus on what everyone is saying and what happened in the chapter to solve the current topic/mystery. Just jump into the first game, the entire first chapter is tutorial tier while the other games throw you into deep water instantly.
Hudson Peterson
You also get to listen to the same discussion multiple times, and you also get to slow down time temporarily in the discussions until you figure out what the fuck is going on.
Lincoln Clark
>and you also get to slow down time temporarily in the discussions Well thats nice, I usually use cheat engines built in speedhack(in reverse) to accomplish this. Thanks for the review, you've sold me
>オタク文化のスレは最悪だから So why did you attach an anime girl pic to OP?
Sebastian Russell
hes calling it bad over there because its not really otaku anymore its full of リア充 posting 3dpd rap videos and white people teaching japanese extremely poorly
Xavier Sullivan
Are you meaning threads in /jp/? >3DPD rap Like this? m.youtube.com/watch?v=21gibhmZCzI Yeah it’s quite abusive behavior skipping the process of the mathematical conversion from 3D to 2D.
Okay, I know how the gesture in pic related is done but their meanings got me confused. The palms-down waving is, as I understand, "Come here" in Japan but as far as I know, it also means the same in the West/West-influenced countries.
Basically, I can't imagine the difference between 「こっちに来て」and「あっちに行け!」
Don't watch anime guys. It is cringy and not funny
Ian Allen
>but as far as I know, it also means the same in the West/West-influenced countries. palm facing up is come here in the west, facing down is move on, move on(forward)
>learn new language only because you are a weeb Just don't do this. Learn something that will get you a new job. Don't be a weeb, or you will be always unhappy You are not happy.
Connor Morris
In fact, it’s sometimes confusing even for us so that we have to read the countenance in those cases. But waving your hand with the palm upward seems arrogant behavior so we are apt to avoid it.
You have a beautiful language yourself. Don't learn Japanese. Learn something that will get a you a new job. Don't watch those videos on youtube with Polish - Japanese couples I know you watch them
Jordan Hill
>But waving your hand with the palm upward seems arrogant behavior so we are apt to avoid it. I've read about people getting scolded in manga for pointing 箸 at others
I know it makes you unhappy now guys, but just listen to me. This is not worth it. You will never even go there, and if you will then for only small ammount of time. You don't need to speak this langauge. There is no reason to read their books. The thing you need to be happy is a job and a family. It's better to spend your free time learing something that will give you a job, or finding a girl that you like. You are wasting your time on a hobby that won't make you happy in a long run
>pointing 箸 at others Until 90s, the last step of job interviews in large companies was having lunch with a board member, so that HR could evaluate whether examinees could use chopsticks properly.
I just realized that the movement I was thinking is different. Now I recall that there is a gesture in the west that having a palms-down wave means to go away in such a way that you are "throwing away" your hand.
I was thinking of a "dribbling" kind of movement, that's why I was confused.

>死刑 まあ人口も減ってきたから今だとそういうこともないけどね… >and first of all, they have cut the cost of employment exam as well.. でも刺し箸は相当印象悪いよ 若い女がやってたら、多分結婚できる相手は半分以下に減ると思う
>I won't do anything with my life >I won't even leave my own house >It's not my fault that I'm not happy because you become happy by chance tell yourself this for the rest of your life
>do way too many kanji per day for a few days >lazy for one day >suddenly like 300 reviews and dread even opening the app lol why do i keep doing this dumb shit
This instrumental is very nice, but this rap is absolutely terrible. どうしよう?(´;ω;`)
Lucas Lewis
No, it's a part of the gameplay, has nothing to do with slowmotion for natives, japs use it too because you really need to focus your gray cells in that game.
Hunter Anderson
it's obvious you are butthurt, why else sperg out on the few people on Jow Forums who actually try to do something productive if you actually wanted to lecture people on how they are wasting their lifetime there would be much more suitable places
Nolan Allen
>it's obvious you are butthurt As I said. You are talking to a person you imagined in your head nice But I can understand that the only argument you can give when someone tells you the truth is to tell them that they are buthurt
Asher Price
You're butthurt
Austin Rivera
we both know it's true now learn japanese or get the fuck out
Sebastian Brown
>now agree with me or get the fuck out
Jayden Russell
now you get it, congrats
Jacob Bailey
holy hell, is this dekinai when he goes into rage mode?
Zachary Martinez
Do you feel happy when a person from Japan responds to your post?
>I'm here to learn a new language >no one here will bother with translating
Kevin Cox
is jewelry? that's pearl, not so many shells have it however if i collect them whole day it can be good money.
there is a better way to collect shells. what? hey, free diving is somewhat hard anyway. ew what ya doing Kurou?!
Robert Parker
One normal person in this thread. I can understand why you all weebs want to be like him.
Nicholas Evans
go there you'll have the time of your life
Alexander Campbell
You aim at truths or lies that you want to agree or disagree with, as the game progresses aiming gets harder and there's more obstacles in the way which makes slowing down time essential to aiming well. Here's a parody of a dangan debate youtube.com/watch?v=3P1ogquO4ys

Arigatou, tomodachi! Could you please also translate two more pages?
I lived in Osaka for 4 years, I could have stayed there a hell of a lot longer but I decided I wanted to experience a few other countries as well before I die. Learning Japanese is worth it, it can open up oppurtunities like with any major language, though a NEET never doing anything with his life learning a new language and never applying it to the working world is a waste of time for the most part. Just like if someone learns Mandarin it opens new doors. I never even fully learned the language, my Japanese is pretty awful.
I'll be heading out to another country here soon, deciding between two offers. Argentina or Thailand this time around.
Tl;dr but it doesn't take a genius or a degree in mandarin to know China sucks ass
Isaac Howard
I won't go to China myself but know a few people that make a decent living there. I couldn't put up with the amount of bullshit involved with the country. It was just an example that came off the top of my head.
Colton Brown
Why would you come into this thread to write this comment? Did you try and fail? You know that's pretty common that people give up, come here to cry telling everyone it's a waste of time anyway just to feel good.
You are not completely wrong though, many people realize it themselves sooner or later that it's not worth it in the end and stop, but some people end up making it.
