Do europoors just walk around looking at all the nice ass architecture?
Are they aware their countries are significantly more aesthetic than the rest of the planet?

yes, it's beautiful really :)
i do, but not enough people here do :/
De ce e sudul atat de naspa?
Looks like Haiti or Liberia.
Yeah, i take walks sometimes just to take in the architecture.
concentratie mare de b*Curestoizi si tigani
Hmm yes when I think of beautiful I too think of medieval buildings because I too am a time travelling peasant from the 1300s
I know tha Romania’s one of the poorest parts and a dictator knocked down all the old stuff. But even Romania has significantly more aesthetic buildings than you could find in the New world.
Ok but have you ever driven 20 minutes to your nearest strip mall to devour some wings? Top tier life style here
sure, I love it
I do quite often.
>20 minutes to get to a strip mall
Where the fuck do you live?
i walked past that on vacation, that is fucking sad dude. and i tought this was bad
In the suburbs
I apologize to my ancestors for being an underachiever in this life
well, at least we can blame Germans for destroying our heritage, but who can Belgians blame?
I actually bought my very first camera a few hours ago, Nikon D5600 with 18-35mm & 70-300mm, for the sole purpose of taking photographs of architecture (primarily our own).
not him but I think this one looks nice
the original building still remains
we have a saying here that everything is always the fault of the socialists. and that is true in this case also
Yes, I sometimes take detours through the Old Town. Chinks ruin the atmosphere though.
I get excited when I see some brick buildings or a cathedral. Living in the new world is suffering.
No, you live in the middle of a cornfield or are just lying. In the American suburbs you never have to drive more than 2 minutes to get to the nearest stripmall. If you are driving 20 minutes to a strip mall you are straight up "extreme rural", a level of ruralhood that most Americans will never know.
t. Lived entire life in Detroit and Chicago suburbs (with some time in downtown Lansing)
Commieblocks are patrician architecture.
>I think this one looks nice
I do but I’m from Jow Forums. Most people don’t give a fuck I think.
Yes, we are aware.
Europe is not a monolith. Every European country has nice parts and shit parts. Same as every other region of the planet.
:)
Holy shit that’s depressing
We know dawg, we know
Regardless most places are aesthetically pleasing in some way. Spain, Netherlands, Britain and Poland all have some form of urban beauty
Yes and no. Most Europeans assume the whole world looks nice.
Why did you only mention 4 countries?
I mentioned 4 different countries that yet all have nice things
Yeah I was lying about the nearest strip mall, but I does take me 20 minutes to get to a bdubbs, walmart, regular mall, etc.
>Do europoors just walk around looking at all the nice ass architecture?
that's what you pay for
I've got roman ruins by my house and people throw trash in it
Sometimes you can even make the old look fresh, and that's the best shit imo
I'm not sure whether this is nice or not
> Italians
When I spend time in Italy I see beds, fridges, plastic bags and shit just dumped alongside the roads. What is wrong with Italians?
Cities arent meant to be viewed from the sky.
shitalians are subhumans
you have to pay to throw away big shit
people no want pay to throw away big shit
we're not rich like you lucky fucks
That's just view from roof tho
mama mia
Not really. There are a few exceptions, but our urban areas are mostly shit. Grey, depressing, post-industrial dumps, that never truly, fully recovered from the economic ravages of two world wars. Our small towns and countryside are very beautiful though.
How far the mighty have fallen.
this
most of the UK is absolutely mortifying
I now live 1 minute walking away from this picture. It's nice.
why does this website and the internet in general think we feel some kind of connection with the roman empire
Well of course not everywhere is nice in the literal sense of the word, but my point was that even though Europe indeed is not monolithic, you can still throw a dart at the map and have a very high chance there are aesthetically pleasing towns nearby.
Though all are different, most countries have very interesting and nice places.
theres chinks in estonia?
they had a purpose that was greater than their own lives
why wouldnt you? At least the people of Rome should. I muh ancestor about vikings.
West/North Europeans are priviledged people on Earth
Most people over here seem to have a pretty realistic view on the world, considering they happily label 90% of it as a shithole.
youre part of the EU just move to a diff country
we are more attached to our medieval/renaissance culture, since it left more inpact on our current architecture and lifestyle. In my town we have a medieval fair every year for example.
yeah I'm moving to sw*den for welfare gibs
Are those all gonna be torn down?
Comfy as fuck
I do. It takes me like 15-20 hours to drive to places like Rome etc.
I do so several times per year.
this
its true, most of the world is shit to live in, latin america, the whole continent of africa, all of asia/middle east(even developed south korea and japan have high suicide rates and overworked, and no pretty archiecture), eastern and southern europe, and i met so many Americans that constantly complain about America, saying its a hellhole, and how they want to live in Western Europe/Scandinavia
Canada looks like this too. And many Aussies overstay their Schengen visa and try to illegally work in the EU. Western/Northern Europeans really are the most priviledged people on Earth with the highest living standards.
That's depressing to look at, come down and enjoy summer here user.
You're taking it too far. There's many times more Europeans that move to the USA/Australia than Americans moving here. It's like 10 times as big if not more.
Haha no, when have you heard of a Dutch/Norwegian/Icelandic/Swiss saying they want to move to the US? They all think USA is 3rd world. I've met countless Americans here saying they love the Netherlands and never want to leave, and a few that have gotten Dutch citizenship and renounced their US citizenship.
Trust me, many Americans have told me how much better living in the Netherlands is and how they never want to come back to the US. And I have been to the US too, it is a significant drop in living standards. It is a police state and there is no privacy. I spoke to an American who got his identity stolen because his state publishes the full name, parents names, and hospital name of newborn babies in the newspaper. If you get arrested your mugshot is public data and anyone can see it. In most states of you change your name you must publish it in the newspaper. Cops are egomaniacs and police brutality is a significant problem. And of course healthcare, take a look on gofundme, you will see everyone begging for money to pay their healthcare bills or else they go bankrupt. There is no huge social welfare state to take care of you if you lose your job or struggle financially. I saw MANY homeless people. Shootings are an everyday occurance and many Americans are numb to it. Bribing politicans is openly accepted, it's called "lobbying." Houses in the US are built very quickly and of poor quality.Walls are very thin, no sound proofing, and get destroyed during slight storms. The infastructure is depressing, most of middle America is full of corporate chains and no public transport, everyone uses their car even if its a short distance, and every town looks the exact same. Dutch people complain about 2000€ tuition but in the US it is much more expensive and many people cannot pay it back. You can drive 10 hours in the US and see nothing interesting. This also makes living in the US much more isolating. In the Netherlands I can take a short train ride to Belgium/Germany/France and flights within Europe are cheap. Americans have to spend much more money to leave the country, most Americans do not have a passport and have never left their country.
And yet, many people in the world go to USA for a better life. Just because a few people complain, doesn't mean the whole country is shit. There are more opportunities to do in America than boring Netherlands. Dutch people watch couple of tv shows and they'll believe anything they see.
Nobody wants to live in a depressive boring scandinavia..
sometimes, I went to a pub the other day in Nottingham called ye olde trip to Jerusalem that claims to have been around since the 12th century, it's literally hewn into the rock walls of the castle there. Would reccomend to anyone who is near the area
Why do you not take a plane? It's cheap as fuck in Europe.
OP here, I've been all over the UK except the northwest.
You say your urban areas are shitty but even the "shitty" parts would be considered charmig historical treasures in the US. Not memeing.
Croatia has good architecture stfu. Also Polynesia has good architecture.
10/10 would bomb again :^)
fuck off suburb fag xD
Commie blocks aren't bad if they're spread out but when you pack them in like this it's just disgusting.
We don't go around staring at everything, but we are well aware.
Apart from looking nice, this also affords you a lifestyle that you just can't find in most of America.
In America, if a house is within walking distance to things, the value skyrockets.
For example evn in my poor city, pic related houses sold for $665k. They're just bare concrete inside and not that large. But they're in a safe, walkable neighborhood.
>In America, if a house is within walking distance to things, the value skyrockets.
Yeah, here too. There's a reason why housing in Europe costs so much more in spite of being much smaller, you know.
I really wish I knew that feeling.
British cities are mostly hell, apart from a few smaller ones with nice, cathedral-focused centres like Wells and Exeter
Lots of nice rural villages to be found though, throughout England, Wales and Scotland, and some of the smaller-to-medium sized towns (20,000 to 30,000 people) can be comfy enough
>significantly more aesthetic than the rest of the planet
This statement is definitely false. On the one hand you have South America which is full of European colonial architecture, and on the other hand you have the hyper-modern Asian aesthetic which some people such as myself prefer over European architecture.
>Bosch
German company YEEEAHHHÖÖÖÖÖ!!!!
beautiful
In Dublin we don't have much grandeur, but we have lots of old infrastructure, so our government is so autistic about it that everybody is required by law to build Victorian style houses and no scyscrapers are allowed, not even in the modern centre, and this has seriously crippled our young population's prospects of living here. The housing market is unable to provide for all residents and immigrants that so a small shack anywhere near Dublin will easily cost you over half a million, and that is after you've outbid 12 retarded families that would pay over a million for the same shithouse. So it's very hard to find a place here.
Anime Óbidos!
sounds very good, fuck modernism
Sure but are you prepared for the entire city to be inhabited by boomers?
each time i said italian weren't roman some slovak (or this kind of country) claiming he was roman would shit on me
Do Americans realize that the world's greatest natural beauty lies in the American West?
based
>mfw I live in that area
ayyy, OP tell me that I'm privileged
>The housing market is unable to provide for all residents and immigrants that so a small shack anywhere near Dublin will easily cost you over half a million, and that is after you've outbid 12 retarded families that would pay over a million for the same shithouse. it's the same in cities with lots of modern housing and skyscrapers. everyone is moving to the cities as villages and smaller towns die out. unless you of course wants dublin to look like this.
i wish our government would stop allowing copenhagen becoming full of glass buildings that only rich people can afford anyway
God I wish that was me
This is beautiful though
>Bosch
SWABED
The industrial north and midlands may not be that aesthetically pleasing, generally speaking. But lots of areas down south can be quite nice
