Keeping in mind that human DNA contains more than one trillion "bytes" and not all mutations are harmful, so the actual chance of getting a damaging mutation is pretty tiny. Most sperm banks have a mandatory cutoff age of 42 just to be safe, although older men also simply have less sperm so it would be more difficult to ensure fertilization.

Listen to this guy kek. My dad had me when he was 54. I struggle with many disorders because of him. My sister also didn't turn out normal, she is a psychopath - like to play victim and very condescending. Meanwhile my half sibling all turned out normal EXCEPT 1. The one half sibling happens to be the youngest, was therefore concieved when my dad turned old. He has the same disorder as me. Why? Because the older the man gets, the more probable of him passing on an unwanted or detrimental mutation. Another reason to hate desperate old people.

If the dad is, say, 46, his wife is most likely also in her 40s. So obviously if you have a mother that old, the child is at a high risk for developmental disorders.

I've never told anyone this but this bothers me. Our family isn't very financially stable and my mom barely has a high school education. May god forgive me for saying so but I feel the youngest two won't ever be my sisters the same way my first one is.
