He is what is called "white hispanic" a man who is more european than amerindian (still obviously brown)
Latinos in our country can be white or non-white depending on what narrative needs to be pushed. Same as Jews or other MENA.
Some people stressed his Latino aspect (if they were trying to say he can't be racist), some stressed his white aspect (if they were trying to say he was racist). In reality Mexicans are often racist against black people and the jury will side against the black guy regardless if the dude is Mexican, Asian, or otherwise they don't care because the black kid must've been up to no good.

Mixed-race Mexicans, Asians, MENA etc. do have privilege over black people even if its not as much as white people.

By your logic now all any murderer needs is a flimsy story where he felt threatened and fumbled his gun. If races were switched and some fat black violent thug was stalking a Mexican child and shot and killed him from "fumble his gun" would you give him the benefit of the doubt?
