The main form of culture exported by America (not the same as American culture itself), is the type of culture that is bought and consumed. Star wars or capeshit movies or beyonce albums etc.

This same consumerist mass-media culture also damages real American culture. The average young american man enjoys no cultural legends or stories that aren't copyright protected bland garbage, enjoys no holidays that aren't built around consumerism (perhaps maybe St. Patrick day honestly), and his only ties to the larger community are maybe a phone call from mom every few weeks (and no twitter and social media doesn't count).

Of course larger culture is still there, but there is a real rot going on and which has been going on for decades.

America does have a culture, but it's mostly dead and got replaced with mindless consumerism and other forms of pointless hedonistic existence that is easy to embrace due to how low effort it makes living but at the same time destroys all that is sacred and unique about a place's identity. For example, New England's sailor cultures, cowboys, frontiersmen, cajuns, etc. all had their own culture, yet very few people actually bother to uphold those cultures nowadays because it's easier to just move to a big city and be smug about the fact you can go to a big Apple store more easily than some dude who lives in rural Arkansas and plays banjo.

Even our pop culture was not always this bad - for example, D.W. Griffith was extremely influential in cinema despite making commercial films, and many arthouse directors owe a lot to techniques and styles he created. But over the years, the people who fund our popular ventures have realized that it's easier to repeatedly cash in on things people already know at the expense of actual creativity. Once in a blue moon, things like Mad Men or The Sopranos or Twin Peaks break the mold, but for the most part we have stagnated because it's easier that way. However, the average foreigner doesn't pay attention to the rare big budget artistic thing we make, because we don't bother exporting and advertising it. So all they know of our nation is our most brainless garbage cash-ins - capeshit, Emoji movies, toilet humor, etc.

Traditions is made of customs and stories which a a group of people have done collectively. Then, traditions make way for expression in forms of art and music, or maybe the way the houses are built, or how you dress or act. It is a relatively constant, contrary to pop culture, there is simply too much influences to keep it constant, it is doomed to change. The system is not the same however, because it is pushed not from to botomup, but from the topdown. It is directing the people, and the people are not directing the society.

I agree with with the first half of your post about pop culture replacing a large amount of native culture but disagree with your claim of traditions and national culture disappearing, instead I see them being absorbed into one's personal identity. Being American has become a nebulous concept and people are no longer content with just being an American. They prefer to identify with other sub-groups on top of being American, some groups are based on race, some are based on sexuality, and some even prefer to identify themselves by their hobbies. America has exported this idea to other western nations and as the people who wish to belong to other groups grow the idea of the national identity becomes different for all involved expanding to be able to fit all or just being abandoned entirely.
