Ukrainian-Belarusian separatists and leftists everywhere spread propaganda that the Russian regions - Novorossia, Little Russia, Belarus - are a myth, and the triune Russian people do not exist. However, it is only necessary to get a pre-revolutionary textbook of geography or history and show them how they immediately begin to panic. After all, before the revolution in Russia there were no "Ukrainians" and "Belarussians", as separate from the Russian, nationalities. There was one Russian nationality, which, according to the peculiarities of the language (adverbs) and differences in everyday life, was divided into Great Russians, Little Russians and Byelorussians. Spiridonov AE, textbook of the geography of Russia, 1913.

Disgusting liars
Russia =/= Ruthenia
Rusyns =/= Russians
Russians = Muscovians
Here, I couldn't make it more simple.
WRONG!
Ruthenia and Russia are the same word (Rus) in different languages (Latin and Greek) you clown. So yes, Russia = Ruthenia
>Muscovians
Polish chauvinistic propaganda detected.
YEAH KILL EM
Not in the modern meaning.
In modern meaning Russia refers only to Russian state (Muscovy) while Ruthenia refers to all Rusyns (east Slavs).
Blame the Muscovians for stealing the name in 16th century to validate their conquest of other Ruthenians.
This is literally how your state was called until 16th century.
Ruthenians living in Poland-Lithuania were never part of your state until partitions at the end od 18th century.
Lol, since 16th century you could make your own iconic name, but you're still "Poland" - the buffer state
Unlike you, we never felt the need to LARP as something we were not.
Haha, you're literally doing this right now - larping as Ruthenians, and blame us to steal something, however we are just Russians.
And blaming me for what you're doing, lol.
We don't larp as Ruthenians.
I said that there were Ruthenians living in Poland-Lithuania which is true. They came under our rule when Lithuania conquered modern day Belarus and Ukraine. That happened before state of Muscovy was even formed.
>>/sosach/
>how your state was called until 16th century
Yes. It was called by polish predators and than it spreaded to on west.
Ah, okay. I just made a quick research about what are you saying, so yeah. Ruthenians were originally Celt tribe, but catholic states of wetsern Europe use this word for all Eastern Europe people - Poland-Lithuania and Muscovite Rus'. However originally word Rus' came from tribe who formed this state. So different etymology, but Poland use this similarity as propaganda of enmity toward Russia for centuries.
Don't see any reason to discuss anything with you, since you're just warmonger propagandist.
I use the word Ruthenians because this is an English translation of Rusyns.
In Polish, Rusys was the term to describe the Polish-Lithuanian Ruthenians while Muscovians was used to describe the inhabitants of Grand Duchy of Moscow, because this is literally how you called your state.
So you are all Rusyns, but that doesn't make Belarussians and Ukrainians Muscovians (Russians).
First, this principality was Russian, one among many of them.
Second, originally it was Vladimir principality. You could call us Vladimirians as well.
One among many, but it is the direct preceedor of modern day Russia.
And you had no right to call yourselves Russia, because many Ruthenians were living Poland-Lithuania, free from your rule. Just like you have no rights whatsoever to the Byzantine Empire, and yet you claim its legacy.
Your legal name should still be Grand Duchy of Muscovy.
>REEEE LEFTISTS
Fucking spook, Johnny.
SLAVA UKRAINA HAHA!
This is some history revisionism.
Wait. So basically you're implying that Russia could be called Russia only when it's united state of Muscovy, Ukraine, Belorussia, Lithuania and Poland?
thank you
>And you had no right to call yourselves Russia
As I said - Polish chauvinistic propaganda.
The Moscow principality has won fight of unification of all Russian land. Including people who was living on ex-Poland-Lithuania territory in 19th century.
yeah and old textbooks say the earth was flat so it must be true and we should all go back to believing that because it's better.
It could be if it incorporated Belarus and Ukraine in 16th century, but since they developed their own separate identities under Polish-Lithuanian rule, they see themselves as Rusyns, but separate from you. So you can't call your country "Russia" if there are two other Ruthenian nations around. Sorry.
See
>if it incorporated Belarus and Ukraine
These territories (Belorussia, Malorossia and Novorossia) were legal part of Russia (except Galicia) until bolsheviks created artificial meme nations.
They were never "legal" part of Russia because they were stolen from Poland-Lithuania in 18th century and people inhabiting them never considered themselves "Russian" (Muscovian) despite of your best efforts.
You couls just as well call yourselves "Slavia" because you ARE Slavs after all, it would make as much sense.
I spotted Malorossians.
>They were never "legal" part of Russia because they were stolen from Poland-Lithuania in 18th century
And again, see this:
And sometimes I feel confused why do butthurt-belt countries always try to assume we are not Russians. Even now, they believe in their obvious lie.
Well, as I said, this is just history revisionism.
History of Kievan Rus' consists 3 centuries, then there were few Russian states (duchies) for 4 centuries, then they united into Russia and parts of Lithuanian duchy goes to Poland-Lithuania. It existed only for couple of centuries. After this your country lost your sovereignity for till now.
Those parts, which was in Poland-Lithuania are now independent.
Most of those duchies still parts of modern Russia - Novgorod Republic, Muscovy, Duchy of Vladimir. Except Duchy of Lithuania, which is now few independent states.
We have full right to be calling Russia since most of those Russian duchies are still in Russia.
Also whole your history is based on only 2 centuries of Poland-Lithuania, however history of Russia have been started in IX century.
Just read Gogol, and even Taras Schevchenko, they always calls themselves - Russians.
You are Rusyns, but so are Belorussians and Ukrainians. So again it's just as retarsed as if you called your state "Slavia". Should have just sticked to Muscovy, or something like Red Rus for clearance.
The fact that you hold "most" of former Ruthenian Duchies still doesn't give you right to use that name. In fact, during the conquest you often destroyed the culture and history of other Ruthenian states, as you did with Novogrod. So no, being Mongol-tier invaders still doesn't give you any legitimacy to speak for all Rus/Ruthenian people, Muscovians.
Again, in your language Rus and Russian is the same thing but in their, it's not.
Why do you keep fighting against such clear things?
Your fairytales could have sense to justify your claims in 17th century. When both Poland and Russia were fighting over ex-ancient Rus' territory. But those fight is over for almost 200 years but you still have ressentiment toward us bucause of your loss.
>The fact that you hold "most" of former Ruthenian Duchies still doesn't give you right to use that name. Propaganda bullshit. It was one culture, history of Novgorod is part of Russian history. Majority of people of Ukraine and Belarus still feel more connections with Russia than Western Europe, however western propaganda if powerful and they always involve new constructs to revision history.
>Again, in your language Rus and Russian is the same thing but in their, it's not.
Gogol spoke Russian, Shevchenko spoke both Ukrainian and Russian. And Ukrainian was just Malorossian.
Ruthenia is just one of western names for Rus from Middle Ages. You just trying to build conspiracy theory out from nothing.
>But those fight is over for almost 200 years
Indeed, and you lost them because both Belarus ans Ukraine are inependent states now.
So again, why not call yourselves Slavia because you speak slavic language and "united" some Slavic states.
>It was one culture, history of Novgorod is part of Russian history
False. Novogrod and Muscovy were separate states with different cultures and political systems. Novogrod was a republic, while Muscovy was an autocratic monarchy. In the end, Muscovy enforced its authority over Novogrod and thousands of its inhabitants were massacred.

>Majority of people of Ukraine and Belarus still feel more connections with Russia than Western Europe
Then why is Ukraine recently trying to join the EU while Belarus openly treats the Commonwealth period as part of THEIR history, but not the part when they were under Muscovian occupation?
>Ruthenia is just one of western names for Rus
Rus =/= Russia.
Novgorod was in wars and sieged by all neighbours - Swedes, Lithuanians, German orders. You have no right to blame Russia for it.
Under Russian protection all other neighbours claims for Novgorod were finished.
In Ukraine it's government wants to join EU, and again, Ukrainian government is too much corrupted to say "they wanted to join EU". They basically steal money for now. Also people of Ukraine and Belorussia are under strong propaganda from both sides from now. Basically, western propaganda tells them - if you'll join EU and NATO, you'll be same rich as France, Germany and UK, you'll get hue salaries and when retired you will travel the world etc. And eastern propaganda tells them - if you'll join EU and NATO, all your industry will be shut down and you'll travel to western Europe to work there on basic jobs. Still all of them watch Russian TV, listen Russian music, use Russian sphere of internet etc.
Rus is not Russia, still Rus is part of Russian history.
