To be fair, anarcho-communism wasn't supposed to happen in a few decades; it was projected to take many generations, perhaps hundreds of years. And also, China abandoned actual communism after the 70s and te modern-day country is a fascist corporate state that still claims on paper to be Marxist.

My point was that the dictatorship of the proletariat was supposed to only be temporary and exist just long enough to eradicate the remnants of bourgeois culture. When that was achieved, the state would wither away and lead to anarcho-communism.

The problem was, no communist cunt ever lasted long enough to make the transition to anarcho-communism. The USSR lasted 73 years? That's nothing. It might take 400-500 years to achieve stateless anarcho-communism. Mao Zedong said that multiple Cultural Revolutions would have to take place before bourgeois culture was finally killed.

It failed because the US and other capitalist countries spread propaganda in the communist bloc and dangled images of materialism and Hollywood in front of the masses to fool them into thinking like would be better under capitalist exploitation. Although the communist bloc was not as materially wealthy, everyone was provided for with jobs, educations, culture, and retirement pensions. Under capitalism, you can sell your body as a prostitute and when you're too old to work, you can go beg in the streets.
